Really frustrating because as someone that works in store we desperately need to retain the staff that we have (and honestly we probably need more SWEs) instead of just laying everyone off for cheaper labor in India. It hurts the customer experience and it makes the jobs of the in-store workers more frustrating. I would love to work for corporate but they've also gutted pretty much all remote jobs over the years

Health had layoffs last week. Roughly 200 people I heard. Not surprised because health is not profitable but they’re being all cagey about next steps and senior leadership basically all went on PTO this week and is ignoring everyone. I went into the Boston office this week when the health ceo was there and she didn’t address it at all. Very disappointed

Best Buy continues to layoff software engineers and product managers while hiring in their new India office. My brother in law just got laid off a few weeks ago in a quiet layoff. He had worked in the CORP OFFICE for 7+ years with good reviews. They "claimed" it was job redundancy.

Massive layoffs coming soon for DAT (probably next week). They seem to be heavily cutting CWs and hiring for the India office. Unsure what will happen to FTE. Definitely seems like the goal is to move all engineering to India.
