Strong rumor - SAP to buy Berlin based startup N8N

SAP in talks to buy or partner with N8N as its internal efforts to boost the next gen SAP Build falters big time with legacy platform. Existing products to be scaled down, retired and moved into support mode with external vendors until customer migration is complete. Teams to be reassigned/ laid off based on the location. Possbile news to be out in 2-4 weeks.
It gets even more critical to compete with lean AI first startups as SAP share price nose dives 17% after the announcement of financial results.

@yn All information here is rumors and inside tips before it is real or official...otherwise it will be called official communication directly from the company.

@yn+1kg5cexcp We will see in a couple of weeks to a month how much of it is a rumor. Negotiations still ongoing so things can change. If you have internal access then go see the vision for SAP Build with new engagement layer and see for yourself.

To moderator - Nothing confidential is shared here...

It would make sens !

Joule isn't good enough, bad UI, complex workflows..etc
SAP is having hard times selling agents and AI solutions with it.

If SAP can integrate n8n correctly and give it power to modernize the business workflows to make them more user friendly that would be a big win.

BUT if n8n is acquired and forced to change itself into SAP existing UI and workflows: basically if they put an existing manager over n8n to tell them HOW to do things it will be a big failure and n8n will be dead in a couple of years.

Steve Jobs once said: I hire talented people to tell me how to do things.
I don't hire talented people to tell them how to do things.

All semester plans are frozen until further notice (don't know till when), employees have been asked to do meaningless work. All teams rooms are quiet. Nobody is talking and nobody knows anything!

Isn't any of this confidential, to be blurted out in a public forum like this?

I hope not. N8n has a bad product that does not fit well with the rest of the SAP toolchain. If this is happening, it seems the acquisition isn’t well thought out and it’s a ploy to bump up the share price in the short term without any realistic long term gains.
