One Year Later

Is this strategy working 1 year later or after 250 employees were fired, how is this strategy playing out ?

Mutual of America Restructures Sales Operations Team
Changes aim to further strengthen the customer experience and emphasize the Company’s ongoing commitment to the retirement plan business.

NEW YORK, March 3, 2025 – Mutual of America Financial Group, which specializes in providing retirement services and investments to organizations and individuals, recently announced that it made strategic changes to its sales operations structure to further strengthen the customer experience for plan sponsors and their employees. These enhancements complement the Company’s continued dedication to offering comprehensive recordkeeping and plan administration services, even as some companies have moved away from such essential services

The Company reinforced its commitment to customer care and education and boosted its leadership capabilities in each office across the country, by streamlining its regional office footprint and enhancing retirement plan services. This improved structure allows for greater teamwork among the Company’s sales and service groups, to ensure customers receive a consistent high level of service across all regions of the country. This also promotes better internal collaboration when addressing customer needs and providing them with the exceptional service they deserve.
The new structure aligns with Mutual of America’s overarching long-term strategic objectives, which prioritize customer engagement and education, and focus on growing lasting relationships with plan sponsors and plan participants. It’s important to note that the changes incorporate valuable feedback from the Company’s customers and employees.

Is this all just 100% Bull S.Hit or what ?

@1n2 when 320 park avenue and 115 Broken Sound was sold, how much were the property taxes ? If the CEO provided details about how much the taxes were on the gains, then it wouls have come close to like $50M. This is a charge against the bottom line. However, there was no mention about this recently. Just lies about the revenue enhancers making 5% returns on $500M parked in hedge fund. How much were the taxes on the sales and where does that impact the bottom line or did those charges get amortized over 79 years ?

@14j Yup. Quite a turnaround alright. Save $100M on retiree health. Save $100M on pension freeze. Fire 250 employees who are blind sided. Fire sale of two property gems total value at $525M and lose 2,000 group plans and $4B in outflows in 2025. Quite a turnaround indeed.

@12x And and how much did the company lose the year before and the year before that? Seems like quite a turnaround to anyone who is being honest.

Z1, yes, she did make antisemitic remarks and everyone who was on the webex that day heard it. Maybe you were listening that day. She should have been fired for that. You can defend her all you want but you the fact is, she's done nothing to make things better here.

@z1 Company lost nearly $40M last year so Rich wasn't able to turn things around. The stock market is sky high and 250 people were canned and there is still no real profit since 2018 ? the NPS scores are rigged. The first 3 quarters the results were not even posted and then Poof, out of thin air, the scores go from a 9 to a 33 in 1 year ? We would like to see the actual report of the scores and have it audited. The reality is is that 2000 plans with negative NPS scores have left in the past 4 years. Do not believe the NPS score of 33. Need more transparency into that number compiled by Team Su.CX.

@z1 Tara Favors DID make anti-Semitic remarks on a webinar and HR scrubbed that section from the replay video. The original still exists, and plenty of people have it. And most of the people in HR who worked on scrubbing the video are now gone from the company. Don’t be surprised if it resurfaces. Her comments were disgusting and she should have been immediately terminated.

@OP The company had huge losses for several years as a result of the leadership of people who focused only on the number of sales and the size of the plans obtained and not whether there would be a resulting profit. Let's see where the numbers come out for 2025. I would be very surprised if the company isn't getting a lot closer to being profitable again. And I also heard through the grapevine that the NPS score from our customers improved dramatically.

So to answer your question, no, I don't think what was said at the beginning of 2025 was "Bull S.Hit."

And for those attacking the CHRO, you just come across as cowards - especially the person accusing her on a message board of "anti-Semitic remarks" but probably didn't report it because it is false or you don't actually care. And if someone offered you what the CHRO makes, would you turn it down? Of course you wouldn't, so why would you expect her to? Oh, and commenting on how she dresses only proves that you are not a person whose opinions on all the rest of this stuff should be taken seriously. In fact, it seems like the person hurting morale here (if you are actually still an employee) is you.

@hh spot in ! She makes more money in 1 year than I make in 6 years. 6 years. Think about that and I'm busting my a-s-s across my territory to fight to get clients to stay and I am getting paid 1/6th of the CHRO ! 1/6th. It's BS !

And why is the the CHRO still here collecting a FAT paycheck? She's done nothing to improve morale here. Given all the turmoil, I realize that's a challenge. However, she's done nothing to improve the culture here. She's arrogant and egotistical. The performance appraisal process is ridiculous. All the work that managers have to do and NO impact on actual salaries. It's still "favoritism" and nepotism. She likes to act so "enlightened" when she hosts heritage month webexes but everyone knows what she's really all about - self promotion and collecting a paycheck. She's built nothing here and all of us know it. Stephen should really do an honest assessment of the impact she's had here. She cut all of our titles, salaries remain below market, favoritism, benefits reduced, epically low morale, anti-Semitic remarks, twice a year reviews that have no impact, pockets of hostile work environment issues, and just an overall phony. Not to mention the unprofessional attire. Teamwork makes the dream work? Sure, but she's the only one dreaming.

@OP lots of plans lost. Net outflows continue. Sales still down from 2019 highs. All the work from the 250 people laid off landed on the 850 left so you do the math. Strategy has backfired.
