New layoffs will be announced this month. However if you are a web developer then you will be safe because HP needs all the help they can get from these folks during this time of the year.

Web dev. Laid off. Never underestimate the stupidity of middle management.
Seems lots of l4 announced this week and so many lay offs
How many more are coming with next layer - next announcement should be early Jan but who knows if wfr will trickle through then
I got laid off and I am NOT future ready.
Don’t worry you’ll be fine. After all, one man’s trash is another man’s wife.
I got laid off. My life is ruined. 17 years at this company. My wife will probably divorce me now.
Everyone knows that most of the real work at HP is done by CWs. A lot of FTEs are just pure overhead, they attend meetings and polish PPTs, they contribute zilch to HP's bottom line, and they're all grossly overpaid.
I hate how protected CW web developers are here at HP. I know one of them who’s been working here for almost five years now and I keep hoping they get laid off one day but they keep getting their contract renewed. As a PM I have to worry about getting laid off every quarter!
"We would like to inform you that the HP Repair Facility has repaired your product and your unit is currently in transit."
My personal HP laptop. The 3d time this year. I am embarrassed.
FYI it will be most Project Managers, if not all
- Amazon is laying off all 14,000 of them
- TikTok laid off around 500
Well ironically people who have never worked in big tech don't really know that HP is the way it is. It's impressive on resumes and to family members but it's completely hollow. Until you specifically tell them about the "joys" of working in big tech, they're going to assume that you're contributing to a huge PC maker that makes products all around the world.
“Tbh I hope I get laid off before Thanksgiving so I don’t have to be embarrassed to tell my family I work for HP.”
Tbh you should be more embarrassed of the fact that you have to hide what you do for living from your family if you can even call it one. If so then it sounds like you have one heck of a worthless family. Hope you have a happy Thanksgiving anyways.
Well it's not 2024 anymore, it's 2025. Seems like you're not very Future Ready
@qlq+1vl7BEzs They are going to start with those who are unable to compose a complete sentence and work up from there
I’m one of the CW developers that can confirm job security during this month. Contrary to the comment below, I’ve been embarrassing myself in front of my family every Thanksgiving by bringing my laptop with me to work remote during the holiday. They clown me for it every time but I make more money than they do so the joke is kind of on them. Anyways layoffs for CWs in my department usually take place mid year. I lost one of my managers that way who was also a CW. Cross my fingers that I’m not next on the chopping block. I actually like my job.
Tbh I hope I get laid off before Thanksgiving so I don’t have to be embarrassed to tell my family I work for HP.
How do u know? thought all layoffs are done for 2024...
