Exec remuneration

Have a long career friend whom just made it to exec level… what does it truly entail?

Have heard ~300k$ and similar RSU for CL30 is that correct?
How does that develop when being promoted to higher CL’s upwards of 30? Any big jumps that he can expect?

30+ isn’t only managers. There are “technical executives” such as senior research engineers, senior principle engineers, chief engineers, etc.

EBU is earnings bond unit. It vests once a certain earnings per share target is met.

What type of titles are usually associated CL 30+, is it manager of managers? L3 and above? Or are we talking vice presidents?

Salary depends on technical or non-technical. At CL 30, I got about 80-90% of salary in RSU, +15% cash, +15% EBU…something like that. I left at CL 32 salary nearly 500k, RSU down to 40% as I moved back to technical (outright told technical execs don’t get better than VG rank…not sure if true). I wasn’t a kool aid drinker. You don’t get ahead being good anymore! You get ahead by mimicking the behavior of your execs and su-king up. If you have a path to CL 30+ and can live with yourself, stick around. If you aren’t good technically but are a good yes man (or woman), stick around as you’ll never make it at an independent. If you’re YEE 12 and your trajectory isn’t obvious, you’ll never make it…go elsewhere and make more! My job was my hobby for years and EM made me hate it.

Lets say technical professionals are making 250k plus or minus. $6M means DWs value from 1 day of work is about equivalent to the value of 1 month of technical work. That still seems high. Or 1 month of DW work is as valuable as 2 years of technical work. Yeah, no. $6M is still too high.

What do we think an appropriate DW salary is? The US is getting pretty fed up with CEO compensation these days. I remember a few years ago DW gave himself a big raise to be more in line with his peers. He earns around the $25M mark. I'd say $6M max is what he deserves.

What is an EBU

We don't care what DW or any of the elite uppers knock down. So what is your point here? What we do care about is our jobs being outsourced so DW can earn an insane salary and bonuses. Maybe the person bragging on themselves here is part of the elitist over Pais too?

It is very easy for a highly ranked technical professional in CL 28/29 to have salaries in the >$300k range (especially after last year’s salary treatment). Getting bumped to CL 30 as a technical professional is a death knell for ranking. All CL30-33 worldwide are on the same rank list so you are competing against the next-up “masters of the universe”. Maybe not the first cycle, but definitely within 2-3 years there’s an NI or NSI in their future. With those rankings, RSUs are only slightly better than they would have gotten before the promotion. Also, raises are minimal at that rank point too.

The only ones who benefit are the soulless sycophants who will do anything to service their masters.

Entry level execs have a bridge program which gets your RSUs to 1000. Salary doesn't grow as much as exec maybe around $350K. You also get profit sharing and EBUs so consider a total package around 500K+

Golden handcuffs for sure

300 seems low. A just minted exec would probably be at least 400 based on the direct reports I have had. Don’t know how their RSU looks after the program update.

....asks a Greedy id1ot who is interested
in climbing the EM corporate ladder.

You wanna make more $ in EM?: here's the path: become a self-serving, narcissistic, ego-driven, kool-aid drinker, back-stabber, psychopath who can d3f3cat3 in others with no remorse and even gusto.

That will give you the $ and promotions you are looking for.
