Thread regarding VMware layoffs

What will happen to vmw stock on monday? Will it be suspened at NYSE?

Looks like China is not approving the deal.
The deal is no way getting closure on oct 30th.

If things go south, expect MD and Silverlake to have first dibs on dumping the stock and others to be bag holders. I pray this does not happen

I still bet that even if the deal goes through Dell and SilverLake figure out some clever financial engineering solution to avoid paying taxes like everyone else.

Yes. And considering layoff.com is the primary source for information, you have a front row seat. Regardless of where things go, you can not trade VMW tomorrow. If things go south, expect MD and Silverlake to have first dibs on dumping the stock and others to be bag holders. I pray this does not happen

Regardless of what does or doesn't happen Monday, prior VMW shareholders will be affected by market reaction to the ongoing negative press and Wall Street commentary

The BC deal is imploding.

It’s October 29th. No announcement. BC needs 48 hrs after they got China‘s approval to close the deal. Very unlikely they got it already and nothing’s announced!

Why you say they need 48 hrs after they get the approval?

I mean, I supposed there is still a chance that approval comes Monday morning in China, but I just don't believe it.

"Hock gonna pull a China approval like a magician pulling a cat out his hat. Nobody gonna see it coming"

Why is there no announcement or anything on the news?
what's so secret about it, if they got China approval?

@yxv+1pkqPTkv seems logical.
That's what will happen.
This is not closing on monday.

my best guess is that the stock gets suspended before the open, as planned.
then... nothing happens. no news about SAMR approval.
no official message from either company.
then, on Tuesday, they announce that the election has been extended to November 10th.
and stock resumes trading probably on Wednesday?
these are just guesses of course...
nobody knows.
