Every time I see somebody from C-suite/upper mgmt gone, regardless of how bad they were and all of us having all kinds of reasons to be happy for seeing them out, I’m also anxious because new mgmt comes in with a pomp and announces overhauls, reorgs, new directions, all that cr-p, which as a rule mean cuts and layoffs.

Original poster: Layoffs are part of corporate life. If you’re still hiding beneath your birth blanket, I really hope a lightening bolt will hit and activate that thing called a brain you refuse to use.

What is ECO ?
Hopefully Mark the CIDO is next!
ECO announced layoffs... not confirmed numbers, but there are layoffs coming. Not rumored.
If I got a dollar for everytime some pessimistic doomsday commenter leaves a comment on this website about layoffs, I'd be able to retire early. Granted the name of the site is "3M Layoffs" but the phrase gets thrown around here so much without any merit or evidence that it doesn't mean much anymore. Still a broken clock is always right twice a day. I'm not saying more layoffs couldn't be on the horizon, but it's all speculation and there's always some gloomer touting it on this page. I know if it does happen all we'll hear is "SEE, SEE, WE TOLD YOU!!!!" but like I said, a broken clock is always right twice a day. Right now all the layoff comments are starting to sound like the boy who cried wolf.
I'm going to assume that @ypa+1trSVl0I 's comment was posted with a strong side of sarcasm. I can't imagine a single soul, other than someone with VP in their title that would say that.
@cqf+1trSVl0I - sad, but you're probably correct. If they hadn't retired, they got axed, sadly.
There are no boomers left at mmm
Today is a very good day in 3M. Keep your pessimism to yourself.
Layoffs are good. Have to get rid of the boomers so that younger ones can move up
