Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Anyone remote will not be promoted and cannot go to another team

Yup, the communication is official out. Managers were pre-wired last week.

All remote status will be switched to hybrid and you will have to try to get remote status reapplied in March.

You must be on-site 39 days per quarter.

No career advancement is aloud for remote workers and no applying to other teams.

Dell told workers to be remote and take advantage of being able to move to other locations. Those people can now take advantage of being pushed out of a job.

Happy FY25

It's time to move on and give up on Dell, he can do business on its own from his pyramid like in dorm times

In Texas a man’s word used to mean something.

These sound like verbal commitments to me.

If you are top talent today and remote -- I'd say your good for 1-2 years ish

that said the dell culture is to be hybrid; so if your 60 years old ish, then it doesn't matter, but if you want to work another 10+ years, you as top talent, have a least 1-2 years to get a new job

Clarke, who is also vice chairman, added: "After all of this investment to enable remote everything, we will never go back to the way things were before. Here at Dell, we expect, on an ongoing basis, that 60 per cent of our workforce will stay remote or have a hybrid schedule where they work from home mostly and come into the office one or two days a week."

Remote workers, you have a friend in Michael Dell.

While other tech CEOs are hauling keyboard commandos back to headquarters, the Dell Technologies leader said doing so won’t solve the teamwork or culture-building challenges that some say plague the remote-work environment.

“Even several of my fellow tech industry CEOs have pushed to get their teams back into physical offices ‘to engage more fully’ or be a more visible presence,” Dell said in a LinkedIn post on Wednesday. “If you are counting on forced hours spent in a traditional office to create collaboration and provide a feeling of belonging within your organization, you’re doing it wrong.”

Anyone that moved far away from an office was a fool. Thinking this remote office would last forever is crazy talk. People deluded themselves.

Plus, your location to the office no longer matters. 700 miles away? Dell doesn't care.
