Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Boeing leaves Aerion high and dry

Aerion, who is competing with BOOM supersonic, got a huge boost when Boeing invested and partnered with them in Feb 2019 but once again, Boeing's word is shown to mean nothing as they walk away from thier "partner". Sound familiar? Yep. Embraer can console Aerion over a beer sometime.

For those of you who were told "you are safe from layoffs" or believe there are only 2 more rounds, or that the next one won't be as big as the last. Remember what Boeing's word is worth. Take a look at the carnage left behind of all those who have believed Boeing in the past.

Good luck to all of us.

Not surprised. A bunch of overpaid arrogant people running the show. Throwing money at stuff with no plan. It's been doomed for a very long time. If Boeing kept bankrolling it might have worked. It would have taken years to get their capital back though.

Aerion went belly up today. Unable to raise capital. How much capital backing did Boeing pull when it broke its word with Aerion? Would they still be in business Monday if Boeing would have lived up to its deal? We will never know.

But it shows what a promise from Boeing is worth. Look out for #1, that would be you.

Is anyone surprised about Aerion? The spent more time pumping out press releases than designing the aircraft!

Aerion has abruptly shut down. They gave all their employees notice.

Heard Aerion is out of cash and having major issues with their design.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/sarcasm
Sarcasm@yky
Refers to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say, especially in order to insult someone, or to show irritation, or just to be funny. For example, saying "they're really on top of things" to describe a group of people who are very disorganized is using sarcasm. Most often, sarcasm is biting, and intended to cause pain. Irony can also refer to the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say; the "they're really on top of things" statement about the very disorganized group of people

OP stops by and posts some BS. Then, OP casually steps back to watch the children fight over the content (or lack thereof). It’s getting old.

Thanks for your $0.02, Clarence. Sure hope you feel better. Remember, it is “puff, puff, pass.” When you bogart all the good stuff, you harsh the groove for the rest of us.

@ijt+15xEcUaB no of course Boeing's need to conserve cash has nothing to do with mismanagement...are you high?

It has everything to do with it. And the fact that they don't hold up thier end of deals has nothing to do with whether you can trust them...I know your in Washington, but put the doobie down.

Boeing and Spirit AeroSystems have largely disbanded engineering teams
Working on Aerio Supersonic’s AS2 business jet, according to two people
Familiar with the decision, as both companies search for any opportunities to
Conserve cash as they adjust their businesses to the fallout of the Covid-19
Pandemic

This has nothing to do with the horrendous incompetence of
Boeing’s Management
