Tips to avoid layoffs:

  1. Complete all training on time.

  2. Never argue with any of your co workers and never vocalize your true opinion.

  3. Always put your best effort in your work .

  4. Document everything and if you are struggling on a task seek help.

  5. Never trust anyone.

  6. Try to praise your manager and make them feel as though they are superior.

  7. Volunteer in company sponsored events

  8. Make your self visible but never show all your abilities .

  9. Keep all records updated (Skills Assessments , Resume, etc)

  10. Network , Network Network.. always try to make connections outside of your work group and offer your service to any group if needed.

IMHO the "survival tips" here are completely wrong - these are the moves to "survive" and wither. Your agony will be prolonged and you will get cancer or something without severance.

The best way is to do the opposite of the "tips", do your job at highest professional standards, rightly question the incompetent "managers" and get laid off in broad daylight.
