October 30th delivered in my division at Optum and I was one of 33 sent packing. Many serious titled roles were in that group, and ages were truly varied so at least they don't age discriminate on layoffs. I had heard they have these sweeping layoffs, but you plug in to the mother ship so you can feed your family and then hope you won't be picked off in one of these arbitrary workforce reductions. They truly are dirty dogs who pay low, are skimpy on raises, and have workforce reductions whenever they want (again small groups so nobody alerts media). Companies like this should be punished for what they do to the workers. Now, the executives $$$$$. IF ANY OPTUM OR UHG PEOPLE READ THIS - GET OUT BEFORE YOUR DAY COMES.

Yes large layoffs in Insight, Security and, Technology… won’t be reported as it is Offshoring roles which is not a role elimination and won’t be announced…. Good Luck everyone!
Usually at the end of every quarter. The 3rd quarter ended on September 30th. October was always a big month for layoffs.
With most of the contractors already cut, the Oct 30th RIF will hit employees hard. Unfortunately, the external job market is just as harsh.
@yk I dont think it will be huge UHC likes to let people go in spurts to keep it out of the media.

Noone knows until it happens. Anyone who ever had any kind of reliable information must no longer be with the company. This site use to be accurate. Hasn't been in a very long time.
