Thread regarding IBM layoffs

If you don't leave in 2021, you never will!

This is hottest job market and if you don't leave now (or in the process) either you can't (just excuses!) Or you're already an ibm lifer/don't mind being one.

Microsoft uses its own spying platform to contact people. What a shock...

Fake news. Linkedin works. I know two people that has MS and Google contact them from LinkedIn profile

Linkedin is like myspace, most have unchanged profiles from 10 yrs ago.
Nobody is looking at Linkedin, get real.

If that's your plan, I would suggest to jump on LinkedIn and resume updating right away. The current market in my experience works through LinkedIn.

Don't want to leave, so much as see our business fortunes improve.

For those with family and kids on the way its much harder. I know many families at IBM who don't send their kids to school or daycare because of COVID. I think once things start to settle down in 2022 you will see more people leave who have families.

@blu+1cKiRnF7 Guess you struck a nerve with a small handful of people who can't handle the truth. LOL! You're correct though.

@yhv+1cKiRnF7 good for you! Not the case with maximum ibmers as ibm hasn't got that much money LOL

I keep trying to leave but they keep giving me ridiculous amounts of money. True story. Say what you will but money is money, friend. If you don't make what you're worth ask for more or leave, otherwise stay and wait for something worth it.

My plan is for 2022 after I complete my current upskilling cycle and have used IBM for the new job role experience I moved into last year. There will still be plenty of jobs in 2022 in the USA since the current pResidential administration seems hellbent on paying people to NOT work and rely on the nanny state.

Good reminder. Better look before I get laid off.
