Advice for LOXY, from LAPC

Hey LOXY friends, LAPC here. It’s a pleasure working with you, and I mean that sincerely.
Let me give you some advice on this whole voluntary separation thing: aim high. I’ve been amazed to hear LOXY people talking about requesting only a handful of months, and let me tell you, that is ridiculous. You need to know two things about LAPC: 1) we’re spoiled, and 2) our COC numbers are huge, 3+ years on average.
So love it or hate it, there won’t be any APC folks bidding 6 months. HA! Everyone I know is aiming for about 2.5 years of pay.
Forget about your old severance and this “one month for every year” BS. That’s over. You’re playing with Big Blue people now, and we’re expensive. Don’t hate us, use us to your advantage to get more money.
You can either cry your way to the bank with a few months of salary, or get out of the company a fair offer like the LAPC folks will be doing. Oh, and if that fails, you’re no worse off than you are right now.
Good luck out there, kiddos!

I’m L-APC and put in for 24 months. I’ve been with APC 6 years and they denied me. I submitted my application and it was the next day that I got my denial.

I do want off this ship, but I want what’s fair to me!

Some people are reporting another thread they received yes/no answer within 24 hours. It does not appear to be that for everyone.

Has anyone gotten any official confirmation from HR or the email on what the turnaround time would be from putting in an offer to receiving a yes or no?

Because they are looking to get rid of people. It cost them a lot more to get rid of LAPC, so LOXY is where it starts. If LAPC was going to get 30 months then start at 24 months. That makes you six months cheaper to cut than a LAPC. Hope I got that right. Put in for 24 and when they reject put in for 23, and so on and so on. They will not bargain with you, but you can keep putting lower offers in until they take one. So know you absolute minimum to leave.

I don't get this. Why would HR judge a OXY offer using LAPC metrics?

L-OXY can aim high all they want, but the sad truth is they wont get as much severance as L-APC. They will be lucky to get 6 months.

This. As much as I have no allegiance to anyone other than myself, we are all on this sinks ship and in the same boat. I’m LAPC, been here for 2.5 years, and I’m going for 30 months. Do what you all are comfortable with but the OP is right - LAPC really has little incentive to aim low.
