This place is a joke. Got a PIP out of nowhere. No previous performance notes on file. There must be some benefit to doing this over mass layoffs?

@xs+1jpywv8n1...that is not accurate. As I understand, the PIPs that are being discussed are in the sales organization. If you are a part of that organization, you are, or should be aware of all of the metrics being measured, outside of SA (if you are sales, you will know what that means). In other words, thay can eliminate reps that have performed for years for any one of their metrics aside from SA or % of goal. Sad end to Juniper. They let a group of the tainted Cisco middle management in the door prior to agreeing to be acquired. they should have shut all of that bs down long ago....rip
a large public company can't just give you a pip out of nowhere. they have to document there were prior discussions. if you got a good review in the last 12 months and paid you a 100% bonus etc - they can't claim it's a PIP suddenly. you can and you should get legal help if that's the case.
I highly doubt your severance offer will be better after the PiP. I’d take the 6 weeks up front and dip while I’m ahead
fg+1jpywv8n1 Normally yes. Now with trumped up issues we are now offered 6 weeks and leave now or a PIP. That is close to orchestrated dismissal. Of course the lot in the states have no labour protections like in other parts of the world.
If you are on a PIP there is no package. That option evaporated.
ef+1jpywv8n1 as both a manager and an IC I have quit companies when they begin demonstrating a lack of moral fortitude. It is despicable when a manager creates circumstances or conflates issues to raise a PIP on an employee and it is deplorable when it is used company wide. My message to you current employees at Juniper, take the package and leave and to the management perpetrating these PIPs to remember that today you are issuing PIPs and tomorrow it will be your turn to be on one.
To those who say I am being naive, I say to you that my eyes see clearly which is why I left Juniper. Be brave and do the right thing.
Yes, in Sales to someone's question. Long laundry list of how bad I su-k suddenly. A few performance notes are actually valid, but they really had to dig for it. Should I try arbitrtion or just take package?
bd+1jpywv8n1 Juniper employees cannot sue only arbitration. That is a condition of employment is to agree to that.
Sorry to hear. Not all PIPs are the same.
And I don't think they are an option over a layoff... you open yourself way more to a legal case with a poorly managed PIP.
You seem to be comfortable in having enough data to prove this was unfounded and sudden. Let them do their worst and then don't sign and sue. You'll easily get 6 months in settlement offer without doing much.
Just heard 2 ppl from my team got it too . Yes from sales despite making their numbers last year …weird
A PIP out of nowhere is a great way to manage you out of the company, usually without having to pay you severance.
Mark you as a low performer, hope you quit, or set you up to be fired in the future.
Are you in the Sales Org?
