Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Finally feels like the company is healing

Amongst all the doom and gloom I think leadership has finally started to talk about doing the basics right. 10 years wasted on trying to be a tech company and now that tech is ubiquitous thanks to AI, the leadership can finally focus on building decent cars again. Here's to hoping for better years after demise of phony leaders 🙏

@ye Seriously, why was she even hired? The issue isn’t hiring outsiders. The issue is hiring outsiders without matching the resume to the actual problem. If Ford has a quality problem, go get Toyota/Lexus people. If Lincoln has a brand problem, go get Mercedes or Porsche people. If Ford has a customer-experience problem, go get an apple cobbler. But don’t hire generic “transformation” executives and pretend that prestige alone equals relevant competence.

Toyota's $20,000 small truck is the right direction. I'll buy one. Monthly payment will be my only driver when my lease is up. I mean, it was always, but for the first time in my life it will pull me away from my own company's product.

I didn't realize something could be "dead on arrival" and still "heal." With a butcher like this at the helm, it's a miracle the company has survived this long.

So exactly when do the leadership resignations begin?

@bk can you tell everyone what DF has actually accomplished? Because his linkin employment record clearly showed a problem. He did not stay at any one employer for more than 3-5yrs. You talk about Google car. a vehicle that never even mad eit to production or even prototype. Then Tesla...If DF was a smart and good as you proclaim then why did TESLA let him go? Please tell us???
Any man with a brain would not marry a woman has been married 2-3x.. Same applies to employers and time frame.. Sorry but the guy is a SNAKE OIL SALESMAN..

@ck the jockeying for power behind the scenes is intense. Farley kicking downward, Kumar whispering seeds of doubt about all his perceived competitors for the CEO position, while maintaining a veneer of elder statesman. At this point if they want to print money just offer a wide array of exterior and interior colors. Every quarter introduce a limited edition color palette. Use Alexandra’s fashion skillset.

The running shoe industry figured this out. Reduce quality; real runners stop buying; introduce limited edition shoes; wide variety of ever changing colors; collaborate with celebrities and Disney. Poor quality shoes are offloaded onto the consumers.

You can only stay in a black and white world if you produce quality products. Which Ford no longer does. Expanding into areas outside ford’s expertise has repeatedly failed.

Prepare yourselves, Farley is running out of scapegoats. You are next, under the pretense of “modernization,” when in reality, it is because Jimmy and Billy placed a bet on the wrong political party while intoxicated, apparently going all in.

Really, I'm serious with this question, we promote a marketing guy to run a giant corporation, the chris farley was a better salesmen in the first half of tommy boy. This guy's bright ideas and electric pickup truck - i could have told you the ev customer doesnt want a pickup truck.... and what's his savior vehicle - an electric pickup truck fu--ing seriously? Sounds a lot like the guy read an article about scout and said "mmm you know what I feel like doing that too" did he forget to ask what ev customers really wanted????? Where is the ownership of this nonsense, how does Bill or anyone up at that level not see through this sh-t. At least Kumar you dont see running around talking about EV's like it's some sort of savior, that guys actually bright, nope he cant perform, but he's politically smart, watch him and you see whats really happening...

@be Bullsh-t, Farley is what started this. What's next week Ford's Flying Circus featuring Pu--y Galore in a P51 ford branded mustang? I mean come on, the guy has the attention span of a two year old, I'm wondering how long the ford family will take to recognize this bullsh-t pattern of bad ideas, what has farley done that's actually gone well besides firing the people he hired? Really, name on thing, just one thing.

DF was the only hope Ford had for a viable future and the BOD allowed him to leave. Truly a sad situation. Hopefully the groundwork DF laid for the Ford+ Transformation Plan stays as-is and we can watch the bright future unfold.

@b4

Bill won't go anywhere and Farley can be a half decent CEO if he doesn't bring in anymore silicon valley schmucks who don't know sh-t about the auto industry. Give power back to the people who actually know how to build cars and not iphone widgets.
