Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

I’m not looking forward to the mess left behind layoffs

I’m confident work will be even more chaotic from now on. And that will not change any time soon. No way in he-l a bunch of incompetent managers will be able to sort things out, led by people who have no plan or vision beyond cutting costs.

Friends, there is life after GP. And, there are companies out there that truly care about their team members. While you’re getting paid, brush up your resume and work on your exit strategy. The stress you are going through is truly not worth it. There will be future layoffs and they truly don’t care about your livelihood.

i've already taken on more work/responsibilities. I'll do the best I can within the 40 hr allotment, M-F to complete it, too.

But they are outside their mind if they think I'm going to work extra hours to get it done! LOL

Already was asked to take on additional responsibilities without compensation. Been told there is nothing we can do to help ya, but if I can hold out till next year..reviews are right around the corner. Malarkey. More likely additional cuts before reviews are even done. Time to start looking.

Welcome to the chat Cameron. You'll find a lot of angry comments here, folks who gave 20+ years of their life to the company only to have the rug pulled out underneath them. Morale is in the toilette now and you can expect very high turnover from here on out. I know you were probably counting on that part too, saves you from having to pay out severance, but try not to be too alarmed when productivity drops through the floor. I'm working on getting out ASAP, I'm not helping put out the fires I had no hand in starting.

There is a plan and vision, and they have shared it many times. If you feel like your manager is incompetant or that work is going to be too much for you, then maybe it's time you find a new one. There were a lot of people who were let go who would gladly take your place. This process shines a light on people who work through adversity and step up, and those who complain and do nothing. The choice is yours.
