If you’re an 18 year old with an SGL as a parent you don’t need any qualifications and you make the same as someone with 5+ years of experience right from the start. It’s all a scam.
Please Re-read the post. You are proving my point, because you lack the ability to RnU. It was NOT stated that Vets with GED's were the PRIMARY reason for delays. Military veterans with GEDs is the primary reason you are giving for why Intel is constantly delayed? Try again . . .
I think the most standard qualification set is knowing how to operate a pencil, a screwdriver, and follow instructions. That last one weeds-out about of 75% of applicants.
But sure, they’re worth a lot more than a McDonald’s employee. Suuuuure.
When I started, (~9 years ago) the requirement for a non-protected class, non-veteran was a minimum of a 2 year post secondary degree in a hard science. Many of us had a B.S. in Engineering or Chem, etc. Protected classes, veterans was a minimum of a GED. So, there are many that really don't even know what and why certain processes are ran. (I think that's the way Intel wants it) So, yes there is a fundamental break in that many on the floor are not manufacturing professionals, not knowledgeable in science and lack a sense of urgency. This is one of the reasons for the constant delays in new product releases, of course there are many other factors. (not just the floor etc.)
