How much severance have you got during the recent layoff? I was given 10 weeks and wondering if there is any hope of asking for more?

I was told I would get essentially 1 month per year I was here, so 3 month. However the taxes are horrible on it so whatever the $$ amount they give you, go ahead and take out 1/3rd.
Contract workers get zip --- bye and gone.
Something to note: when you are laid off, if it’s in the middle of a pay period, you won’t be receiving your regular salary paycheck as your last paycheck.
Also, it takes 2 pay periods after signing the release to get any money. That means for some it could be up to 4 weeks without any pay.
I was told by a director that someone recently let go was only getting 1 week per year. I don't know how the 10 week min impacted that person's situation since they would be just below the 10 week min in that case.
I suspect that since the severence pool has been drained so much they might be resorting to some "custom" packages for some people now. Assuming the info I got was accurate of course. YMMV.
I got 6 months
Minimum of 10 weeks severance for those who have been here longer than six months.
*Severance terms can change at any time.
To answer the question, you can ask for more. The worst thing that can happen is they take away your 10 weeks. (Because they can change the terms of severance at any time)
You get two weeks per year with a max of 26 weeks (13 year or more max at 26 weeks)
@adh+1seTrjL5 your sarcasm and trolling is NOT appreciated at a time when someone's livelihood has been taken away
10 weeks? Everyone else that I spoke to got 20% of their salary plus 25 weeks of severance pay.
