Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Productivity dipping due to layoff anxiety

The longer they drag this out, the less work will be done. Mark my words.

Jokes on them.. the only thing I’m productive at is bothering my coworkers with my Bs. 😂

This always happens. People start taking vacation time. Offices are empty because people aren’t going to waste money commuting. Managers start distancing themselves from reports because they know what’s coming and aren’t allowed to drop hints or say anything. People start leaving because they want to take a good offer before the market gets flooded.

@xhn+1o82nh8s nope. If they wanted attrition by design, they would have set notifications date 6 months into the future. That's a more realistic timeline to factor in attrition. Right now, October is the shortest time they feel they can do a good job in identifying who should be cut.

This is by design, to encourage attrition and save severance dollars. Tells me the approach is we will not stop anybody from leaving which also means everybody is fair game when the axe falls.

Based on meetings at high level happening everyday, I expect lay offs will happen pretty soon.

You can see it everywhere. Emails, meetings, hallways, teams chats… it’s true.
