When people start telling me about toxicity at BH, how there are a lot of backstabbers here who are much more valued than employees who are only interested in their job and doing it as well as possible, my only answer is that culture starts at the top. The best employees here will always have it worse compared to those who spread bad vibes, because the real culture change can only come from concrete changes in leadership behavior. Agree? Unfortunately, I have no high hopes that this will happen.

Look at the persons at the very top. Dreamers with no execution plan
Well, they executed my career. To HE-L with BKR
@xen Sounds about right.
The real fun begins when they don’t pay out your overtime and your “people leader” tells you there’s nothing he can do about it, even though you sent screenshots of your correctly entered time to him in SAP. Five emails to the VP of HR and a threat to file a lawsuit with the DOL later, they finally (grudgingly) pay you your overtime.
Funny I’ve worked for Baker from 2005 to current and the shop has always been full of sh---y liars that don’t stand by their own work. The bosses I’ve had have been a mixed bag with one or two stand outs as genuine people with pride in their job but the rest just showed up. Upper mgmt beyond them have always seemed clueless and lost in delivery dates to the point they sc--w up other delivery dates, sowing chaos everywhere they went. He-l it seemed that the mgmt was rewarded in their failure, shipped from plant to plant like Catholic priests.
“Culture starts at the top”
There was never much of a culture at BH, at least not while I was there. What could have passed for a corporate culture was snuffed-out by the GE leadership, almost all of whom were unqualified lackies. The few who weren’t lackies were old GE insiders who didn’t care about much other than their 401k.
Post-GE BH is a company with no sense of what it is or what it wants to do. They have nothing to offer their employees besides a paycheck, and they even have trouble with that.
