When the acquisition bus is about to hit you, close your eyes....

That makes absolutely no sense.

It's a production company then... If that's true, engineers are all you really need. When Oxy recruits, do they tell prospective G&G candidates this?... No wonder this company is going nowhere.

@xeib+1ussK0ZY, some fair criticism and some not so fair. Some E&P companies are simply better at “P” and let others do the “E”.

Because Oxy cannot organically find hydrocarbons ( Haven't since the 1980's). Not ONE press release in the last five years of Oxy finding anything material. Drilling the deepest water depth well in the world in Colombia ( F/O and carried I assume) this year. Very risky and gas prone. APC spent one billion plus dollars drilling Colombia gas wells and finding marginal reservoirs. Oxy has gambler's ruin; the next big acquisition will save their company. I just want Oxy's stock price north of $60 and I will move on.

It is so hard to believe that Oxy stock can’t even get up to the low 60’s. We were all led to believe Anadarko would somehow improve the stock price. It has been 5 years since that deal and still no benefit. Then they buy Crownrock? Why? When my debt at home is high I don’t go out and make another large purchase on either credit or cash. I pay things off first.

Very unstable. Always willing to sign up for the “latest” trend even though it seems like they are one of the last to get there.
Big Boss-“Carbon?, yeah we know that, we’ll build something to catch it!”
Minion-“What if we just catch what we emit from our wells?”
Big Boss-“Fire that guy and replace him with a DEI hire that will agree with me”

The company is fair and balanced. They are perfectly willing to accept handouts from the current government as well as support DT.

Buffett gave up on company and quit buying every time it dipped below $60. Pray he isn’t selling or it might drop into the $30’s

Can't find oil unless they buy it... Not sure if they are and O&G company or a carbon credits/chemical company... I've never known a professional that moved to Oxy that I can say...good move... It's a train wreck and wish I sold my position in the spring when it was worth something. Sat through the Oxy technical presentations APC post merger and thought three things. 1... Is that all they've got? 2. How did we let a company like APC slide into the toilet... 3 How do I qualify for severance... Chevron will pick your bones and eat the few pieces of edible meat.
