I'm a journalist leading our coverage for Payments Dive. I'm sorry to hear so many of you are going through this awful experience of losing your jobs -- right before Labor Day weekend. My name is Lynne Marek. If you've been cut from Global Payments this month and you don't mind telling me about your experience, please shoot me an email at lmarek @ industrydive dot com. I don't need to use your name, but telling me about what happened to you will help our publication get the word out. The company isn't talking.

Tsys is a global payments company as of 2019 and they were probably told to do layoffs before acquiring.

There "Its just the way she goes" and there's "treating your worker with some basic fu-king deacency".
Ejecting your loyal and hard working staff out of the company over 3 days with not even so much as a heads up is straight up disrespectful. Added to the fact that it's obviously been a firing by spreadsheet rather than actually assessing any of these people to see if they bring value to the company.
But you can keep kissing the companies boot if you want, it won't protect you if they decide that your salary would look better padding out their quarterly income reports.
The whole IT industry is going through a change right now. Google it, it’s more than just Fin-Tech taking a hit. This happens every so often and you will see it if you stay in the industry long enough. TSYS did this same thing back in 2016 - 2017, I can’t remember the exact year. 400 people gone. GP had to do this to cut dead weight and “combine duplicate departments” but really it’s just the way she goes!
