Salary bumps for people stepping into new roles?

So, for people that have now stepped into new roles because of the layoffs and people that left, are we getting salary adjustments? does anyone have any insight on this? or are we just "lucky to have a job" and are supposed to shut up and take it?

@x4 and what company doesn't do this? Why would any company keep people they don't want just to not promote people they want? While some layoffs are about reducing head count to appear more profitable, it's a pain to fire people unnecessarily (especially if you don't want to be sued). What would pi-s me off more are departments that laid off people just to rewrite the same role (salary resetting to new market demand).

@b1 lol, everyone got 3% across the board, even the shi**y performers. They didn’t want to bother with differentiating merit increases in the midst of layoffs.

Yeah, I don't think we'll be getting any bumps, especially not a compensation bump that makes coming into the office 5 days a week worth it for me. Took an outside offer and doubled my compensation instead, and I expect many will be following suit.

The company just completed their last promotion/adjustment cycle at the end of the year, so if you didn’t get anything then, it is not looking like likely. They usually have a second cycle around mid year, but who knows what will happen given the new leadership.
