Recruiter Layoffs

How many of us nursing recruiters were let go today? This is such bullsh-t. No performance plan my entire 6 year career but I get let go out of nowhere today for under performing??? Make it make sense. And thanks for the 2 weeks severance. F this place

I was told one girl was let go after experience a medical emergency and required medical follow ups. Her manager who is was the head of training was very HR not appropriate with her telling her she couldn’t take lunches and her medically necessary appointments were no excuse…. Sounds like a lawsuit if you ask me. They are an at will employer but the employees do have rights….

@169 what a great idea! (ROLLING EYES SO HARD). 🙄 The executive leaders really truly have no clue how to run a company. Ship is sinking lower and lower each week. Unfathomable! 🤬

@15y they’ve been outsourcing recruiting for months already. At one time I heard the whole skilled nursing recruiting team would be outsourced bc the profit margin is so low on those deals.

@10c Sounds like they are going to start outsourcing recruiting as well

@x4 Even with a PIP if they are let go it's a layoff and they get a severance and unemployment. Which makes me think about how much money they actually are spending by laying off as many people as they have and continue to do. All the severances add up. Mind you that's in a lump sum and not spread out over time either. Laying people off isn't honestly helping the company any as they still are losing a bunch of money by having to pay people out.

I fully support getting a severance! It's honestly the LEAST this company can do after everything. I'm just looking at the overall amount that they've spent by all the layoffs and how much that total would be.

@x4 if they got a severance, it’s considered a layoff.

Oh but they can afford to bring people over from the other companies with guaranteed bridges. One girl told me her bridge is effin 9k a month guaranteed for ONE YEAR. so she’s making 70k base with a 9k guaranteed commission each month bc she’s from amn

@a1 would love to know which office you were in. Sounds like you were here just a bit longer than me. So sorry.

I would love to know what locations you all are from. I am fearing I am next. 5+ years and being thrown multiple KPI's that no other office seems to be required to do. I fear for all recruiters as I wonder if hiring overseas recruiters is the next step they are planning. The culture has dropped so far below what I hired on for. I wish everyone a great new future.

It’s not a layoff if you were let go due to performance which is what happened with recruiters. Not saying I agree with it, just saying that is why they can continue hiring recruiters while also letting them go.

@vz All of this! As far as them doing what is right, they are way beyond that now. They are too far gone to turn back now.

@vz Being in IT, I can tell you that it's a disaster here. The CTO doesn't want to hear anything that's wrong, they've gutted the department of people, have cut budget for software to basically nothing, have outsourced to the Philippines like other departments, and have no plan for how to keep talent and people who still know the systems.

It's going to get worse.

Instead of taking a step back to recognize the actual issues that are preventing recruiters from growing any kind of desk

  • having clinicians speak with someone overseas that they cant understand
  • onboarding in general being an absolute nightmare and taking up 50% of the time thats supposed to be spent 'on the phones' talking to god knows who because everyone in pulse has been called on 3.2 million times
  • utter LACK of technology to help us do the basics (stop trying to make Pulse a thing - its not meant for our industry and inhibits so many aspects of the job - call back rates, holiday rates, finding jobs for clinicians, organizing ANYTHING) BUT DONT WORRY! ONE CLICK SUBMIT is here to save us guys!
  • Textus is a joke, recruiters lose texts, cant find responses, arent even notified of a response and the amount of time spent on work arounds because... what?? Textus doesnt work with Pulse?! IMPOSSIBLE!!
  • lets not even bring up the conversation on compensation... you want me to grow my desk? Incentivize me to do it. Because all I see when I bring a new person on is a whole heck of a lot of confusion, miscommunication, who's on first? whys my paycheck look like this? who am I supposed to reach out to with this question? HOW DO I SUBMIT MY TIMECARD because Ciro has been broken for 3+ weeks.

But you're right... lets get rid of tenured recruiters. That will fix it. Recruiters were cut off at the knees and expected to run a marathon.
Advice to MedSol Leadership: Do what's right, not whats cheap. That's when you will start seeing the ROI.

10 years!! Medical Solutions is a joke, glad to be out! Managers have been told to stop caring, and it shows! They have lost some great employees! Outsourcing is their answer to digging themselves out of a hole! Recruiters GET OUT!!

I was let go today as well as at least 4 others in my division last Friday. 3 of us for a fact are fully remote and that seems to be a big part of “underperforming” since I recently doubled my desk since attending the recent camp they had.

I am sorry for all of those affected and truly hope you find something amazing in a different industry! I am not in sales but have heard from several recruiters about the metrics. I feel the metrics are set so high it’s not attainable by the masses and they are setting them up to fail. Yet recruiters are needed unless they are heading down the AI/recruiterless path that I hear other staffing agencies are doing. LRS recently “eliminated roles” in the last week or so too. Medsol is a damn joke! Processes are horrible, tech is nonexistent, and all teams are overwhelmed burnt out. Thanks medsol human first! !&@$!#%

@cy Legally they aren't supposed to hire for 6 months if a layoff spree is occurring. I also noticed that recruiters are one of the openings they are actively hiring for. It truly doesn't make sense. But when has anything this company done actually made sense lol. 🙃

I'm so so sorry to those being affected by yet another layoff round. Wishing you the very best in whatever endeavors come your way next!

I didn’t think they could lay off a department that they are actively hiring for. Doesn’t make sense. They’re asking for referrals for recruiters to hire more. I could be wrong but thought if they layed of part of a department that department can’t hire for 6 months???!

2 week severance after 6 years?!! Yikes. I'm sorry for that, I was in the first round of layoffs in 10/23 and got 2 weeks of severance for every of service I was employed. They are really sc--wing employees. MedSol really su-ks!
