I want to wish everyone on this site a happy holiday season. Don't let the handful of Karens on this site that post the same thing over and over again get to you. If you check any company's board from Google to Chevron to Tesla and Conoco, there's the same negative nonsense that exists at every company. Some people just feel they are superior and expressing themselves on an anonymous internet forum makes them feel better about who they are. Merry Christmas, Happy new year, I am happy to be working at Oxy and am looking forward to a great 2021.

Your percentage breakdown seems reasonable. People write about what they know or believe. The people who implement layoffs would never post that information here. The only layoff-related information you'll find here is after a layoff has occurred.
I would say regardless of the name, or whatever the original intent was, after reviewing many of the posts, it's a site for; Complaining about one's job in general - 30%; Complaining about those who have management responsibilities - 30%; Coming up with spiffy insults for those you don't agree with - 30%; Political insults - 5%; Seeing what Karma Troll is agitated about today - 3%; Layoffs - 2%.

It's about layoffs, rumors, a place for those who feel that they're getting squeezed to vent and many other things. It's also a place to complain freely and and be around those that are feel similarly.
If you want the company line, use Yammer or the company page on linked in.

People at Oxy never did like the idea of their victims fighting back.
You people persecute people and then have a problem when those people watch you fall with a smile on their face.
And you still don't get it??! Oxy hasn't changed one bit since they ran from Aberdeen. Not one bit.
People stay on because they are making a sh–load of money sitting on their behinds not really doing anything productive. The company is too incompetent to realize this because the individual managers don’t want to give people poor ratings. Low ratings for employees are a poor reflection on the manager. The whole system needs to be reworked with more oversight by senior management with the axe.
They are all woke and hate their jobs so bad they are miserable people. No courage to quit and go elsewhere, but a lot to stay on and be a cancer. They don't want anyone to be happy if they are not the happy ones. Come on people grow some. I am sure the govt will have you a green job soon.

OP, you are right. However, you must not have read much on this site if you thought positive comments about oxy or any company would be well received. This is the place to gripe and complain, and blame one's employer for the problems and unhappiness in your life. If you're generally happy with your job and life, you are not welcome. Now, let's see how many heads will explode based on my response. I say the over/under is 5, but I would not be surprised by 7 or 8. Start those thumbs typing!
You sound like you are compensating for something OP, or at least have something to be ashamed of. Do you ever stop to think why? Do you ever wonder why others have the opinion they do, or does the sun revolve around you? You exemplify the maturity, arrogance and bullying entitlement that so many people see at Oxy. Congratulations! You are the very thing you hate the most. That is the definition of failure on every level.
If you have been here only 5 years than you must not have experienced how great the company was 15 to 20 years ago. Then you might share the views many have that the company got twisted off in the wrong direction.
Oxy has been good to me for five years. Sorry so many are unhappy and not had the same experiences that I have. Great boss and co-workers with great benefits. The pay cut was tough, but at least I kept my job.
Come to a site about layoff, complain about negativity. Amazing.
