Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Who decides who is going to make the cut and who will not? Immediate managers, directors and above?

Just curious who makes the determination of who stays and who goes.

Managers have to provide 1toN list, sometimes including impact to projects, and then VPs cut it at specific number deciding who's affected. That's how it always worked in Sabre

EVPs and up made the decisions. I was not contacted at all about my team.

It seems the VPs are the ones deciding the list for this round

Again, this is how all companies work…… a communication for a targeted reduction is sent, and director/sr.managers with their leadership work through the list. This is the main goal of a manager, to plan capacity ,build and assure productivity and performance of a team.

Direct manager needs to have an input on who goes obviously based on a proposed headcount reduction from HR.
