Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Dose of reality

Quit complaining about the C-suite etc. Hiring bubble the last 3 years where every engineer and his dog could change jobs and command huge sign on bonuses are gone. That was abnormal including the cost-of-living adjustment due to abnormal consumer behavior from free-money. Those days are gone, free money is gone and interest rates are high. A lot of other tech companies will be affected. No one is immune and major recession is imminent (predicted by the big g-ns who have skin in the game). Give it a couple of years and things should be back to where it was...

@wps - I think you hit the nail on the head: this site is the club that binds all the people past and present that became bitter, myself included. One usually thinks of bitterness as a character weakness, but people who think that never worked at Q. It's hard not to become bitter after all they put a person through, and I'm not even talking about layoffs. I'm working on moving on, and every day try hard NOT to visit this website. One day I'll never be back.
FYI, I know for a FACT that Q has (or had) "life coaches" (read: therapists) to help employees with their mental stress related to working for them. I know this because when I reached out to a life coach on my own, they told me that for full disclosure, they also work on behalf of Q w/ other people. It's shameful that things have to be this bad at any managerial level that a company has to compensate by 1) having life coaches to deal with the damage they've done to their employees, and 2) secret retention bonuses where the VP gives you bonuses under the table to bribe you to tolerate the Sr Dirs disgusting backstabbing behaviors.
Its sad coming to this site, it's a case of misery loves company. My advice is to move on, exercise, all the other good advice other posters have said. GLTA.

"Hiring bubble the last 3 years where every engineer and his dog could change jobs and command huge sign on bonuses are gone."

Right, your bosses own you. Even though they have very little knowledge or skills, you don't have the right to make more. You have to take the fu----g small percentage that they give and be grateful while the parasites on the top rake in the money.

"No one is immune and major recession is imminent (predicted by the big g-ns who have skin in the game)."
we are already in a recession
fake elites just redefined it so according to the new definition we were never in it
(propaganda on top of propaganda)
oh look, gas is going up even more now

Qualstars were discontinued a long time ago. This goes to show how many bitter ex-employees there are...

Here is a dose of reality…don’t expect to get a Qualstar anytime soon. Don’t try to blame others, Qualcomm execs are to blame for current mess.
