When I first hired in many years ago I was amazed at how many 25+ year employees were counting their days to retirement. After putting in over 20 years now myself I now see why. What is most aggravating to me is the complete incompetency of "the best" out there when it comes to just the simple task of making money. When we have managers more concerned about how many questionable items you have on a LPO versus our inefficient, costly, and redundant methods of issuing permits for mechanical work (OPE anyone). Sprinkle in a dash of inclusion and it is very easy to see why morale has been on a steady decline for years. The company used to be more about promotions and making the individual look good. There was a tradition and sense of pride in accomplishing our tasks.
