So many bat-sh-t crazy people here who are speaking with next to no knowledge about what Tanzu offers. Throwing around the word "Tanzu" like it's a single piece of software with one purpose.
I've been in this industry for 20+ years and I've never seen anything as impressive as TAP. Show me any other competitor that can take you from code commit to securely deployed url on MULTIPLE clouds all at once. Sure each cloud provider offers their own flavor of this, but then you're tied to them.
Sure there's plenty of cicd solutions out there that offer automated testing, scanning, deployments, etc., but they're not running your apps.
I'm not aware of anything other than TAP in the market today that can provide all this for multi-cloud and on prem and most importantly, run your apps.
This product is still early on in its life cycle, but it's a beast unlike anything I've ever worked with.
The leaders of Tanzu are just parroting the line of how to run a biz PE style and have sold their soul to the hockman for now.
Likely just biding their time, recovering from their backbone being removed, and then will move on to some other tech company having “grown” from the experience.
Then the real A holes will take over. That is when the fun starts! Get out ASAP
Tanzoo go night-night!
TAP IS CR-P
actually very recently several BIG TAP wins in the USA. Strategy looks like it's working for the BU.
The biggest waste of money is Tanzu Services and Strategy Team. A group of engineers who no longer want to engineer but write content. So happy that woke culture is over at VMware! Welcome to the real-world! It's your day of reckoning.
No longer a VMware employee but I actually liked the TAP strategy before I left. Filled some gaps for customers.
When will Hock make his assessment of Tanzu, 6 months? 1 year?
I need my multicloud support to integrate with the supercloud and then ensure all my hyperscaler infra is compliant to support a superPaaS to build incremental value and to support the edge.
Thank you Tanzu for a science project built on buzzwords and not solving customer problems.
I’m on the edge of my seat waiting for Hock to shut it all down.
The TAS F me up the A pricing model is coming soon. Be prepared.
100%
Cloud Foundry / TAS will be the sole survivor as it fits with Hock's business model. The remainder likely sold at cents on the dollar or shutdown.
Available Add-Ons …
No one buys an Add-On they don’t need.
Tanzu will be included in "VVF" bundle:

It fails to sell because no one makes a product customers want.
The same people that didn’t know how to do that before Hock invaded are still there. They won’t achieve the goals Hock has laid out for them. The leaders will go on to F up some other company claiming their time at BCOM was a growing/learning experience.
No amount of Hock telling them to make money will translate into a product strategy - unless that strategy is to milk the current customers who are paying for old out dated products that have no growth or future.
You don’t need 2,800 employees to milk customers. So Tanzu will shrink and shrink, until profit margins to employee ratio is met for the products that can be milked.
The rest will be sold to some other company if at all possible or simply shut down.
What’s the future of Tanzu
Death
Why is it failing to sell?
Hock should have dismantled Tanzu already. I guess it will take a little longer until he sees the light.
Better get some butter for the Tanzu toast.
Same stupid leaders , not knowing how to make products people want.
Eventually it will all implode.
Won’t take Hock too long to suss this out.
