This is seriously affecting my work and morale after I moved away from my toxic manager to another internal role. Is this allowed and even legal? Has this happened to any of you? What are my outs?

Got a Director LRd for doing that. She had many, many HR cases against her prior to me logging mine. My current manager confirmed she was doing it. She is no longer working at Cisco.
@w3 I highly doubt you had that much pull to move several RMs around..sounds like you have great dreams though.
Happened to me. RM was je-k - I called my OD to quit and he asked me to stay and moved the RM out. (12 people had quit before me because of the je-k). New RM then wrote me up on false accusations that the previous manager fed him. On the advice of my OD I never signed the doc but I did submit my write up of the situation in my HR file. New RM moved to marketing and finally had a great RM...it was exhausting.
Create a blog and write articles to expose your toxic manager. Just tell the true, you will be protected by exceptio veritatis.
Incompetent insecure middle managers are toxic and a major problem to Cisco's success. Most managers in technical roles do not have a bachelor degree or have a bachelor degree in psychology, art or other irrelevant areas. If you have a toxic manager, I strongly advise to send a report to HR and expose that manager. Most manager at Cisco have obvious Business Code of Conduct violations,

Is it legal? Sounds like your former mgr may have a valid point.
Reverse uno the old manager and start reaching out to some of their direct reports and bad mouth them in kind…it’s only right. You can’t have someone just disparage you and your reputation like that..because in the corporate world perception is often reality..and the perception about you is long often formed by people and conversations that are out of your direct influence. Take this advice and action —seriously!

Some people just su-k. Always be smarter than your boss and make it know if you are. If that is a problem for them, find a better manager to work for.
If you don't su-k it does not happen.
