Even if have approved project, it can be cancelled. It happened to many people.

Maybe not next week, but possibly next December/January if they don't do well in holiday season. If you have an approved project with allocated budget, then it's more likely that you'd be okay, otherwise no.
I'm dreaming of a time when I won't have to fear layoffs every single day.
