Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

People are running from Fido no matter the pay cut

Lately I keep seeing coworkers walk out for jobs that pay noticeably less (I guess this job market only allows for that), and that says everything about where things stand. The nonstop tension around layoffs has pushed people to a point where any exit feels better than staying. No one even talks about matching their old salaries anymore. The environment has gotten so heavy that most of us just want out before the next wave hits.

This is true, someone I know left in the middle of December. I asked him why not wait until Jan to get the profit sharing (he was vested). To which he replied that he just had to get out!!! I think he was one who got no bonus due to connect week attendance.

@vx can you show where Fido is rated as one of the lousiest places to work? Glassdoor/Linkedin or anything?

Fidelity is rated as one of the most lousiest places to work because of the amount of politics that reeks this place by grade 9 and above, the filthy backbiting dinosaurs. It’s better to get paid to do politics and get health ailments in an other issues than being unpaid here and suffer health issues one after another including mental trauma which you can see in multiple posts.

This is true especially in ET in a particular department when you deliver things, there are rats that take the credit at SVP level and message it as their win while the bottom feeders Are even cut their wages and put on layoff list, sad state of affairs with politician dinosaurs running the show not technologists!

@OP 1000% The company has a quality product, a large market share, and some decent people but for the most part there are a lot of people in the VP position that will lie, change metrics, and sabotage others (saw this first-hand) to make themselves look good.
A high performer can easily find a job outside of Fidelity and there's no reason to put up with that junk. A simple step in the right direction would be to bring in 360 degree feedback.

@h1

You are correct.

Youngsters should be nice to us. We didn't get a buy out because the youngers can't run things. We're suffering so that you can eat.

Despite some of the criticism on here I am happy to listen to the 55+ elders as they have been where we are and are reaping what they earned. So what if they make a couple of hindered 000’s. We will get there just got to put in our time, be productive and listen to their guidance. I know that is what I am doing and I am embarrassed to say what my incentives have been. Anyway, just work hard and it will all work out. Complaining doesn’t help anyone. Focus on the job not what goes in your pocket

Welcome to fidelity where bottom wage laborers less than 40 does the hard work while SVPs atleast 55 plus does politics and takes the cream. Hence better to go away from this lousy firm which incentivizes people more than 55. Quite unfortunate that these dinosaurs are minting more based on your work and make you quit

Are you serious? Staff are incurring health issues because of the culture/environment? Is this true?

People are not leaving due to potential, perceived layoffs- people are seeking other employment due to the increased pressure of workloads and KPI's in which it is burning people out and the stress is not worth the compensation received. The associates in my area seem to be experiencing more health issues as I am not privy to their specific issues but stress has can have a direct correlation to one's health. No one wants to work in a position that makes them feel they are on a constantly speed increasing hamster wheel- that environment creates stressed out employees which in turn effects the client experience as well.
