China EV Sales Numbers Faked?

https://www.autoextremist.com

"China much better than John Wayne USA" (or are they?)

“In China, you can buy a heavily discounted ‘used’ electric car that has never, in fact, been used. Chinese automakers, desperate to meet their sales targets in a bitterly competitive market, sell cars to dealerships, which register them as ‘sold,’ even though no actual customer has bought them. Dealers, stuck with officially sold cars, then offload them as ‘used,’ often at low prices."

@yc I think they marked it as a personal expense and used their own money for it.

@vx I know Lenovo had the satellite. I think the LL6s had them for the 55+ group, paired with a Moto G if I recall correctly. I remember watching one distracted and playing on it during a meeting thinking they were slick, like their parents took their personal phone away so they could pay attention and study. I always wondered how they received the device? It was only used for this scenario, to look like they were busy with meeting stuff.

@vx doesn’t ford have a great relationship with Google? For the past 3 years at least… do they share the same talent pipeline?

China is becoming revolutionary with their high tech. Xiomi 17 Pro phones buried Apples, BYD can easily outperform and last longer than any Ford vehicles. YouTube is public, if you don't believe me. Chinese EVs are crazy.

Why do they bother faking the numbers in the first place, what’s the motivation?

The more important question to ask. What is the true number of any things related to numbers that comes out of China that is not faked? The correct answer, boys and girls is Zero.

@hy+1kaksw9zm used cars before the big increase in electronics are still good if you can find a lower mileage one. that was kind of a peak quality era. the big increase in fail-prone electronics happened at a similar time as long term durability issues like putting oil pumps inside engines, wet polymer non steel timing belts, and dry clutch computer controlled auto-manual transmissions, motorized exterior door handles, etc.

I think vehicle price tags with 25K and under for a new car is coming back.
I can't get anything under 40K now. China is a solution !

Don't borrow money for a car. It's one of the d-mbest things you can do. Borrow money to purchase a depreciating asset. Let the lower IQ people purchase and then save money from their failure, or the people they can write off the depreciation. Does your job depend on people making horrible financial decisions in most cases? There's your answer about your career strategy.

China economy is growing, they are also cutting imports of their oil from western countries, saving them millions and billions. So its a strategy. In USA oil lobby wont let that happen. Its a basic thing to understand. Its a calculated move by them. India is next

@a1 The Chinese people buying fake Chinese goods knows it's fake, but it doesn't matter since everyone does it, just flaunt it. It's all about looking good on social media/the world.
