Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Layoffs don't work

Cutting costs through layoffs is a self-defeating strategy. Unless the company finds a way to increase profits without getting rid of the actual people who make the profit, this will all be for nothing. It's a short-term solution that ends up doing more harm than good. It's a sign of failed leadership.

So correct every business class use to say layoffs are short term solutions. In the long run after the money spent to hire , train, and everything else to onboard new employees does not work save.
I see if they want to pivot the business model some, but should work to move those people impacted to the new areas.

All these jobs can be trained so do that and help your employees.

Bots and outsourcing are more for customer service not claims

I’m in claims and the system definitely isn’t ready to auto adjudicate every claim. There are special claims, like transplant claims, that are handled by a certain team, that the system can’t handle yet.

The BOTs are coming people... Get ready. There are lots of repetitive positions that a bot can be programmed to do -- claims, appeals, customer service.

@vvi+1nZH13Ut If someone is just doing 1 or 2 tasks per week and spending the rest of their days watching Netflix, then that is not a lot of work to absorb. Believe me, there are plenty of folks around that do next to nothing and you could combine several positions into one person that would still have bandwidth.

@vuz+1nZH13Ut if the company derived no financial benefit from the duties performed by these back office, cost center employees then their responsibilities would dissolve with their employment. But we both know that's not the case, as their work will undoubtedly be offshored or absorbed by remaining onshore colleagues (for no additional pay.) Stop being a cuck bootlicker and think critically.

Start your own company and not lay off people then

Nah. There is a lot of bloat at this company. Plenty of individuals to trim that have no impact on the revenue side.

It's a symptom of low IQ management. They've wasted countless millions on mo--nic acquisitions like Coram. Step into a retail store and think about how much money they're wasting on commercial real estate leases to house thousands of square feet of overpriced cr-p that no one buys when a few hundred square feet of pharmacy is driving revenues.
