Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The real long term problem - Too late to fix

Look at your salary, then look at the executives salary. The difference is astounding. Intel was run into the ground by exorbitant executive salaries and product managers constantly rushing products to market to receive the bonus. This is not a" work harder" problem. Intel's problem and complacency is a direct result of corporate greed!

It is not the money that was any of Intel's problems. Not one of the problems that sunk Intel to this point had anthing to do with compensation. It's all about mismanagement. It started with Paul Ottelini, then Brian Kryzanich and then Pat Gellsinger. Each progressively worse than the other. At least Paul covered his lossed with Cloud Computing and Data Center business.

OP, show me another company where the pay disparity doesn't exist. Roll back even further to the late 60s through the 80s when pensions were phased out for 401k and executive pay transitions from base pay to primarily stocks. Companies in general don't give a sh!t about employees. All they want is the stock to go up so they make more money. More indication that PG isn't all that bright. His actions almost immediately tanked the stock price and it lasted through his entire tenure. Face it, executives go to work for the same reason you do which is to make money. If you could pay yourself more would you?

Intel's promotional structure and compensation is bloated by design. They sound pompous and go from meetings to meetings. I have interacted with PEs to Fellows, VPs and you name it. They have a way of obfuscating and eulogising the leadership. Didn't they all love it when Pat came by. Ditto for Bob Swan, BK, and so on. We know the results of this chain. Now that it's broken and it was broken for a number of years, we lament what happened recently. But it is a cumulative result.

Too many fellows, too many principal engineers that don’t contribute to the bottom line.
