Those who survived, are you staying? It appears this is CVS’s plan- layoffs all the time. How can one live with this constantly over your head? What’s the incentive for loyalty and strong performances:raises if used against us? It’s disheartening.

Can't even blame them, really.
We haven't even started the automation era yet.
If you're still holding on to hope it would be wise to abandon it, it won't be enough.
It doesn't get better from here it gets much worse. The sooner you can accept that the better off you'll be.
2nd time in 2 years...this might become a yearly process with this mgmt team
What about if you're in your late 50s? If you look elsewhere, will anyone even consider you due to your age/work experience? Not sure what to do but look.
The employees quit on the company all the time, so why not the other way around?
Probably a bunch of pro outsourcing people in these comments. If they didn't outsource they'd be more loyal to keep FTEs.
It's not about wanting to stay, it's about where you're gonna go if you leave. Dip a toe in the job market out there right now and tell us how the water feels. That said, no there is no stability or reward for loyalty. Always have your resume ready, always work on keeping your skills up to date. You're always at risk, here or at any other company.
It should have been clear from last August or the general sphere of corporate layoffs that security and long-term careers at big companies no longer exist. Maybe they never did but I’m in my late 20s.
If you weren’t “living in fear” after last year I’m not sure what to tell you because it’s been decision time since then. The only chance of any stability is the company making money for its investors and our current leaders are unqualified to do it clearly.
I my self have been complacent and remain here even if I see no future for some reason. Too tired interview I guess, I just rely on my emergency fund and the decent severance policy I’m offered as a FTE (3 months for 4 years service). In short the hard work gets you nowhere, do the bare minimum to get by impressing just a little. Occasionally get the energy to interview when WLB isn’t super fu---d.
My advice is to do better than me and get out. You either have the security in your life that shields you from a life shattering lay-off or you’re at a perfect company that doesn’t exist.
@sim+1uMpseyF amusing to see the temporarily embarrassed millionaire wagcucks down vote your post in an impotent fury.
@vrr+1uMpseyF you mean the voice-driven pharmacy phone menu system that they demonstrated last year, a monumental waste of countless millions of dollars and which is even more frustrating than talking to Indian call center workers?
There’s more coming unless they fail at their AI push.
No, they announce layoffs just about every year around this time.
It does feel cruel to ask "Do you think of yourself at CVS Health in the next 2 years" on an all-employee survey a week or so ago, and then this.
There is no such thing as job stability. You are an employee at will.
Welcome to Neo-feudalism.
Enjoy
Agree with the previous comment, job market is really tough right now. Plus I'd rather get severance than leave for a less than ideal job. I'm still going to keep looking since I feel like most of the $2b in savings will come from laying people off. Possibly more to come.
No job is ever safe, this isn't the 50s.
The incentive right now is even having a job. The market is awful.
