Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Has the severance budget run out?

Seeing some comments about this and how management plan to use performance plans to layoff people without severance to save money, can anyone confirm this?

@svc+1jxZVZ6l consult your attorney. AFAIK Not unless it is determined to be age or some other kind of discrimination. Closeness to retirement alone doesn't protect one from a PIP.

The signal-to-noise ratio on this site is abysmal. Don’t take anything you read here as anything more than rumor.

One piece of verifiable information posted here is that the merger agreement filed with the SEC requires CSG to comply with Citrix’ severance policy for 12 calendar months after merger. The details of Citrix’ severance policy are not public, so who knows?

@vpo+1jxZVZ6l Yeah, not unless everyone laid off last month got a million dollar severance package. LOL.

They took a $200 million loan to pay for severances. It couldn’t have run out yet.

I've been put on a PiP this week and I'm close to retirement. This must be illegal, right?

PIPs are cheaper than severance packages FACT!

Severance is indeed a given if the company has given it to similar employees in the past (unless they want to get sued). CSG terminated a large number of employees with Citrix-level severance packages a couple of weeks ago. Ergo...

PIP's will still make economic sense depending on the tenure of the employee. Severance could be 6+ month payout. While a PIP you can get someone gone within a month or 2.

Severance is not a given. It's reserved for good employees that no longer fit the company, everyone else will be put on a PIP and eventually forced to quit or fired for poor performance/ refusal to comply with RTO. You can't have you're cake and eat it!

The severance budget has not run out. That is ridiculous. As for putting people on performance plans and firing them later, you realize that CSG still has to pay their salaries and benefits all that time, right? It is easier for them to lay you off today.
