Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I hate the reason this board exists.

Uncertainty, non-transparency. No true venue to air concerns at work without repercussions. Lack of faith in leadership and direction.

To the original Poster, I saw a cartoon with Elmer Fudd on it with his name spelled FUDD: Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt, Disgust. This describes the employees' sentiment at Citi.

Getting rid of management layers seems like an act/joke otherwise there wouldn't be so many reporting to leads and group managers still. It's still the same game with hierarchy, multiple managers (direct and indirect), and red tape for approvals even after said trimming. I personally think it's still about optics and keeping up appearances.

A lot of depts will still be made of the same ole dysfunctional units with management responsiblies put on those with little leadership experience. Many do not really want to interact with others even if it's there job as manager just make the $$, steal ideas, and hold people back. So it's BAU.

Sandy Weill created a firm that is a jumble of businesses, with a fragmented, expensive operating model. Leadership's options are limited. Citi has to divest businesses and shrink until it is manageable. Reoccurring layoffs are a part of its reactive business model.

This is what happens when you choose wokeness over leadership.

I have lost complete faith on Citi leadership! Citi is in this difficult position because of leadership, it is time we demand change in leadership.

Leadership sets the strategy, the employees follow. When the strategy fails, leadership must be held accountable. At the moment, employees (soldiers) are being used as scapegoat when the incompetent, outdate and rotten leadership failed miserably!

Instead of waiting to be sla-ghtered, we need to speak up and stand up for ourselves!

Welcome to corporate america, it has been like this since at least the mid 1980s. It just gets worse every year. End stage capitalism is fun!!
