This Thursday is our One CenTeam Town Hall. We have several things to cover – one of which was unfortunately leaked to the media before we were able to discuss it as a team. I am reaching out so that you hear from me directly on this matter.
Centene is committed to sustainable growth across each of our core businesses. We have been focused on investing to deliver value for our customers through our size and scale, but also by rightsizing our cost structure – this is necessary to support the needs of our members now and for years to come. As part of this process, we continually evaluate our workforce and capabilities to ensure we are equipped to honor our commitments and support our customers, our members and our evolving business needs.
To enable us to continue positively impacting the health and health care of our members, we will be reducing our workforce by approximately 2,000 employees or just over 3% of our employee base. This decision was not made lightly and we will support impacted team members with severance packages and outplacement services. We will discuss further at Thursday’s Town Hall.
