Citrix and VMW EUC Have Common Problems

"Citrix Parent Cloud Software Group Cuts 12 Percent Of Workforce"
https://www.crn.com/news/cloud/2024/citrix-parent-cloud-software-group-cuts-12-percent-of-workforce

When a legacy software market is saturated, the only way to increase profit is to cut costs. That's why whoever acquires the EUC BU from Broadcom must rightsize the headcount.

Anything that these people touch they destroy!! Tom Krause CEO of cloud software company previous CEO of Broadcom has laid off mostly all support in EMEA after 150% profit in the company this year, if you work for VMware they are doing the same cycle as they did last year within CSG watch your back and your job because these people are pure ruthless

"I agree, that the EUC growth spurt of 2020 and 2021 can't be repeated. Maybe there's a way to squeeze more revenue from the installed base, but that seems like a 'no-win' situation if raising prices drives away some of the customers."

Not repeated or replicated with the traditional VDI / application virtualization approach. Customers are looking hard at and actively moving to Zero Trust frameworks, which means they're also investing in stuff like application modernization, SaaS, and SASE. No longer do you need an expensive VDI infrastructure and associated licensing just to get to corporate applications and resources. Those who still have a valid use case for VDI can increasingly move those seats to Microsoft for AVD, or perhaps to one of the upstart DaaS competitors which are easier to consume and manage.

"Spoken like someone that really has no idea what's going on at Broadcom EUC."

Rob and Shankar are still reporting pipeline challenges and long sales cycles. What else do you know that they don't? Does Broadcom have a plan to fix the pipeline issue?

Then we're back to cost-cutting. Just like Citrix under CSG (the PE owner).
