Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

What are they doing??

I was furloughed. I have a lot of activities I had to turn over. I had to deal with the constant "I'm already so busy, how am I going to be able to do your tasks on top of mine?"

I'm now seeing these same co-workers who were sooo busy to begin with, on FaceBook and Twitter and Instagram throughout the work day, posting interesting articles they just read, pictures of the flowers outside they just took, sitting outside with a drink as "their office for the day", etc.. I never had time to do all that when I was working and if you were already do effin busy why do you all of a sudden have all this free time with over a third of the company on furlough???? Somebody needs to be looking at these lazy fux and put them on the list for the next round of layoffs or fire them for using company time for this c-ap.

@OP+14Q2yrPK Just report them to the jackboots for not wearing a mask and they're toast. They'll hunt them down via satellite.

Another furloughed good worker here. This break has been good for me. It's a holiday and the weather is gorgeous. Finally getting home projects completed and it's only the first week. I expect to go back to work but it's ok if not.

@ @1ngk+14Q2yrPK As of right now I am paid 50% of my salary, which in my case is very decent money, especially for doing nothing and enjoying beautiful sunny days outside...I realize that you currently (if not always) do the same nothing for full paycheck and you are so irrationally proud of that fact. Although I enjoyed my work at Sabre (even though in my case it was a hard work), these days I find myself far from feeling like a loser :) I'm heading for a nice trip now and wish you a nice day staring at your FB all day. Bye :)

i have every expectation Sabre will continue to make all the wrong moves. Just like they did to "enable a new future for travelport".

As it relates to all the ants at Sabre .. scurrying around.. hoping to ride out a couple of months of paychecks at best...

this quote from band of brothers is for you.
(regardless of your title or visa status)

Ronald Spiers: The only hope you have is to accept the fact that you're already dead. The sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a soldier

@uri+14Q2yrPK yes, i MAY get furloughed or fired in the future as well. But as of right now, I have got paid while I have been on facebook; however someone is sitting at home and got NOTHING. LOL. Oh by the way, I am on H1B and Sabre just paid for my green card application.

I fully expect those who were kept on put in a full 8 hrs of work that needs to be done to keep this company afloat. If they find they have little to do, they need to inform their bosses so they can be furloughed or payed off. No option should include goofing off.

It is very annoying. I know a person who was kept on board (MP) and she had two monitors with one monitor just for Facebook. Do bosses not know that monitors "hidden" mean goofing off mostly??

Another one they kept, runs a personal blog all day long.

Since you are referring to some of your furloughed colleagues as 'tr**h',I guess that you are in a lucky group, not furloughed...YET.Mind my words too.Noone should feel better or more useful than others just because he/she is still there today, you could be in the same situation and you still can be in the nearest future.

Curious what your solution is... everyone who wasn't furloughed should be stuck in a dark room 12 hours a day doing nothing but work? They shouldn't be allowed to use social media? Even if they're actually working outside instead of inside, that's a bad thing? Or maybe those not furloughed aren't allowed to read articles anymore because they have a job? Seems like a great solution.

No human being, regardless of how busy they are, is going to work nonstop for 12 hours a day in one spot. Doesn't mean they're not working or not busy. Maybe you should check your garbage attitude before b–ching about other people.

exactly. you were supposed to just drop it all where it stood. As directed by HR.

I may be incredibly naive but I am hoping against all reason that we still get at least standard severance.

In the docs that HR send out it said that you weren't passing your work over to co workers for them to do your work. The purpose wasn't to make people who were not furloughed have their work + your work. The assumption being that you're going to be called back. I'm just sayin.
