Thread regarding CDK Global Inc. layoffs

Maybe if we had a better product

layoffs wouldn't have to happen? Maybe if we worked on fixing that issue instead of laying off talent and letting them go to our competition we would be able to NOT have to have layoffs so often? You know, getting to the bottom of the actual issue instead of putting a band-aid on an open wound with cuts? It's just a thought.

Mean didn't you see email where the cases were closed due to an "error". Don't know how they thought people would buy that.

I have been told by many of our customers that they only stay with us because our support is better and now they can’t get a call back for two weeks.
Thankfully our customer support people thought “Hey let’s just close the open cases and our problems will be over”
My clients are now screaming WTF!

And a funny side note the last time BM was with us he went to one of my big dealer groups showed them a borrowed PowerPoint presentation featuring one of the only manufactures they don’t have and he just read them each slide. He told them he doesn’t really understand the business. The owner told me I’m sorry but your CEO is an id--t. They were going to leave but BM got his golden parachute. So the decided to stay. This company is what it is because the people more than the product.

We will never have a better product so long as we keep aimlessly letting go people with decades of experience.

No amount of knowledge transfer can make up for experience.

I think this ETL thinks “Fit and Focused” means trimming the hedges down passed its roots.

Remember this is not the first time this CEO destroyed the company and left in a hissy fit.

@upd+1mjNB5aN , you mean fresh products like (hahaha) DriveFlex?

DMS was a moneymaker no one could touch, and it was being modernized. R&R was on the ropes, UCS was dying along with it because both were run by Brockman who was facing prison, and BK was kil--ng it with the customers.

BM wrecked that. All of it. He is gutting the very infrastructure that held it all up. Nobody is coming to save CDK.

Sounds like a funding issue.

Valid thought . We had so many legacy products and folks who were at helm leading them . Folks who were good had left . We needed a fresh infusion of good Product Managers and good Engineering Partners who have a product led mindset. It is happening now but it is going to be a painful transition and more layoffs could happen. This can all go to waste if the current leadership has a short term focus just to beef up revenue and profitability . Time will tell
