Thread regarding Sears layoffs

They finally (almost) fixed Kmart's location site.

https://www.kmart.com/stores.html

As stated, They finally (almost) fixed Kmart's above, location site. They finally removed most of the stores that closed. There are a few silly exceptions that for some odd reason they neglected to bang out. HOLLYWOOD FL, MENOMINEE MI, WALL NJ, BATH NY, WAYNESVILLE NC, CHESAPEAKE VA, (all old closed stores) are still listed when, AFAIK, they all closed LAST DECADE, LOL, but hey, the site is miles better than it was 1 Month ago. They also have the MN store listed, but that is in the process of being banged out, so that will be history soon, thankfully. Give that 1 about 30 Days more, and they are gonners.
So it appears to me that they have 50 Kmarts listed on their website, when, of course, in actuality, there are only 43 non-closing stores. Why those above-listed 6, random, long-since, closed stores, are listed, is beyond me. But hey, I'd rather see the site list be 6-over, than about 100-over, as they were previously. They are getting better. Eddie, I Know you read my lists, and you probably were forced to fix your site because of me exposing the true numbers, so: " you're welcome"! Now complete fixing it, and while you're at it, why not close the rest of 'em too, so I won't have to do your job and maintain your list anymore?
"Be that as it MAY" (to steal the late HBO Boxing analyst, Harry Ledderman's expression) my list of go-forward still stands, at 43, of which 32 are in the US:

Ya, I called all of those 6 stores you mentioned (closed) and their phone #'s were disconnected so they are obviously closed. Not sure why they are still listed on Kmart's site. Kmart in MN (which as u mentioned is still on the website) is about to join that list of closed stores as they are closing very soon. That store is almost empty and likely doesn't even see June 1.

Anyone want to ponder a guess as to why, when they updated the Kmart site, they "forgot" about removing these 6 stores? I can understand Minneapolis still being on there for now, as they are still closing, but for what conceivable reason would they leave 6 closed stores listed, in such mega-important towns such as Bath NY, Wall NJ, Menominee MI, Waynesville NC, Chesapeake VA, etc., LOL? I mean, either fix the site or don't. But why leave these on there when they haven't even seen THIS DECADE?

The addresses for the Bronx stores, someone asked about are: Bronx, NY
Kmart Stores
Bruckner Boulevard
1998 Bruckner Blvd
Bronx, New York 10473

718-430-9439Bronx, NY
Kmart Stores
Baychester Avenue

You can just click on the links, elsewhere in this thread. I still dont see Brooklyn listed on the desktop site (the only site I can access because I only have computers, not smartphones).

If you search Kmart Stores in New York on google and click on that link Brooklyn shows up. However if you go to the desktop site or search stores near me it doesn’t appear. So I don’t know if it counts or not?

What are the addresses of the Bronx stores?

Not yet a boomer (I'm 40) but would rather associate with older folks than kids. I Checked the link (I only have computers, no smartphones here, if that matters), and I only see Bronx, Bronx, NYC, White Plains, Bridgehampton. No Brooklyn.

This page displays different content on a MacBook (using Chrome) than it does on an Android phone (also using Chrome). On the MacBook, it does not show Brooklyn. On Android, it does. Up until now, I have read the page only on the MacBook.

Reposted from another thread:

Now that the Kmart store locator has finally been updated (though not completely accurately), I was curious what the Sears store locator at https://www.sears.com/stores.html now looks like.

These are the only "Sears Store"s still shown there (not including Hometown, Outlet, or Auto Centers):

Anchorage, Alaska (Home & Life) – supposedly open Saturdays only, noon-7 pm
Lafayette, Louisiana (Home & Life) – supposedly open Saturdays only, 10 am - 7 pm

West Lebanon, New Hampshire - this is actually a Kmart
Bridghampton, New York – this is actually a Kmart
Bronx, New York – this is actually a Kmart

Schererville, Indiana – this store closed in 2017 ago and should not be listed
Fargo, North Dakota – this is actually a Kmart that closed in 2019 and should not be listed
Jackson, Wyoming – this is actually a Kmart that closed in February and should not be listed

Just curious, did the Sears store locations on Sears.com get updated as well? I can't really tell if they did or not.

@ino+14FLNGif Not sure what website you saw that on. It might be on Sears.com but it certainly is not on Kmart.com as of right now. Here are the currently listed Kmart stores on their website, for NY state:

https://www.kmart.com/stores/new-york.html

They have listed White Plains, NYC, Bronx, Bronx, Bridgehampton, and (erroneously) Bath.

They have 6 listed, but since Bath is closed, there should only be 5 for NY state. I see no mention of any Brooklyn store on the Kmart website. It might very well be listed on the Sears website (because it's a Sears, after all), but I do NOT see it on the Kmart website. Unless it is on Kmart.com, I am not changing my list.

LOL, went to the jobs site, filtered it to Kmart jobs only, and there are only 15 left in the whole company! Out of that, 3 are in Guam, 1 in USVI, and 1 is the defunct NC store, still incorrectly listed. So only 10 jobs available in the continental US.

What's incorrect is your spelling of the word "incorrect". Look how you spelled it. Again, while the Kmart.com website still contains some obsolete stores, the opposite is not true. Every open store is listed on their website. The Brooklyn location is listed on Sears.com, but NOT Kmart.com. Many stores have multiple registers. Because they have 2 aisles of food items inside a Sears does not make it a stand-alone Kmart, any more than I would consider Wally to be an Arby's, White Castle, or Checkers, just because they sell a few of their items. When Kmart.com lists this location, then I will count it. Until then, it is a Sears that just happens to sell a few more items than a usual Sears.

Sorry Jack, that is incotrect. You yourself pointed out the Kmart website store location tool has out-of-date information. Kmart is ringing up the Kmart product in that building, just like Sears rings up its product, which happens to share the same building in Brooklyn.

Pictures of multiple aisles of Kmart product (not just ketchup bottles and cookies as you say) including the Kmart check-out registers. Upholding the journalistic standards like that one guy on this board desires.

@tdd+14FLNGif Nope, Check the Kmart website. That location is NOT listed. They list 50 locations, of which, MN is closing, and 6 others have long since closed, leaving 43 locations. Brooklyn is considered a Sears not Kmart, and until it's listed on Kmart.com, I will consider it as a Sears, not Kmart.

Here's the map, Eddie, in case you can't find your stores. Again, there are only 43 going forward, not 50. I don't mind MN still listed because they're still Winding down, but those other 6 have been closed ages ago. Enjoy:
