Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

The real reason connected keeps failing

Why is what was supposed to be Darius dream keeps failing iteration after iteration and like Theranos we keep fooling customers with useless gizmos?
It’s not like it failed once but multiple times. One original name was “sentience”…. So something fundamental keeps happening that details that effort, despite millions and millions of $ spend and literally thousand and thousand of H1B visas.
Off course each time we start we have a morale boost (hope) and then reality sets in and morale plummet

Don't forget that MP actually did well developing products for the bar-code scanning businesses, but he is in the wrong place at the wrong time in HCE, not technically deep enough, and his old-school style is to surround himself with fools that he can bully - that just doesn't work these days. Good managers put the absolute best people around themselves, but instead MP got rid of the best as HCE and HBT was formed. Remember how many good people left at that time? and unfortunately Hon was left with MP and his weak cronies.

Simply Bad technology management.
VPs, sr Directors and directors are incompetent and focus on bringing down morale. MP obsession with himself and just using people for his own priorities instead of honeywell has done damage to multiple business units. The question is who else outside HCE pushed for MP to just do whatever he wanted ? Suresh is complicit? Must be if MP and his hires are still sinking the ship. MP should be gone like yesterday .

Honeywell has good ideas and could have been a leader with HCE
Unfortunately a India first obsession and an exclusive staffing of management from that country and exclusive use of HCT ensures failure.
Mehul needs to go out faster. We can’t have politics about India first when it should be business first.

The idea is noble and good. Rightly so when the world is getting more connected to the users. In Honeywell, the issue lies with the implementation and execution where innovation is treated like any other project where aggressive timelines and cost cutting during the execution phase are met with dire consequences. Frustration and despair settles into those that mooted those ideas where ultimately those innovators leave and the project either gets canned (good) or gets outsourced to some HTS team residing in India that promises bigger, better products (mistake in the making) which are half baked and doesn’t meet the intent of what was originally a good plan

not sure why Honeywell is just stupid. GE Digital already told you that will NOT work. How stupid can you all be by asking the questions over and over again.

It is simple. Honeywell is not successful because top software engineers are not working for Honeywell. We are dependent on offshore development. And even in this set up budgets are not sufficient. Honeywell is just successful in selling hardware where this is hardly any innovation (e.g. fire panels - hbt).

My observation is Honeywell defines really good intent but always, always fails to implement or execute. Almost immediately.

HW has always been a flavor of the day type of company.....leaders change so much that they need to make changes to pump their egos......Darius is no different. Who really cares, he's loading his pockets full of cash like the other leaders and that is all that matters. Employee morale is not even on the list.
