NM's answer to the daily violence in Downtown Milwaukee is to get a security van? What exactly is this van going to do to combat the daily mu---rs, muggings, and violence. They can't honestly think this will make anyone feel safe or want to go Downtown.

Downtown is safe? There was a double shooting in the park right next to NM’s headquarters this evening. I’ll pass on working in that ki-l zone each day.
No other employees share safety concerns? The whole damn city is living in fear. Do you not watch the news or see what is going on? No one is trying to avoid work.
No, I just think it’s crazy you’re trying to use safety as an excuse not to come to work a few days a week. It doesn’t resonate with me at all, I’ve never felt unsafe there and know of no other employees that share you concerns. I guess it’s something you can attempt to use as a rationale for avoiding the office, but it’s very weak. Obviously some people agree with you. I get it, it’s not fun to be forced back and I hope they keep the flexibility long term.
@ubam+1nk3jmze Are you the person who blasted the person on Slack who posted about their car being broken into because it created a "bad image of Milwaukee"?
Keep fooling yourself into thinking downtown and the area around NM is safe. Interesting the Franklin campus doesn't need a security van or multiple police officers.
Polos and cargo pants? My goodness!
NM security has worn polos for years, they always hire outside guards (who are wearing cargo pants) during the Annual Meeting, there have always been police officers in the Commons since it opened.
Are you avoiding Brewers and Bucks games? They’re probably far more dangerous than a day of work at NM. So are movies, or going any place that isn’t protected by dozens of guards, hundreds of cameras, badge readers, and police officers. Don’t go outside either, there are coyotes, black bears, wolves, and occasionally mountain lions roaming around.
Have you noticed the security officers no longer wear suits and ties? They wear polo shirts and military style tactical pants? Additional MPD officers are also at the campus this week. If downtown is so safe, why is all of this necessary?
I was able to confirm @1gep+1nk3jmze, I saw today outside of the tower two security guards walking together around the block in a loop. They were guards I have not seen before but dressed in the black NM security polos, radios, etc.
You want NM to fix problems in Milwaukee. Do you bi--h for the sake of bi--hing. Having lived DT and been around NM for years I have never felt unsafe. This isn’t the hill to die on. You sound petty. There are other things to bi--h about.
I'd like the 401k or health insurance van too but these days it feels like all employees are just being taken for a ride.
I'm still waiting for the 401k van to show up with my match.
Yes, the freeway system is shutdown at least once per week for some "police situation" aka shooting. Try coming to the city instead of hiding in your River Hills or Mequon and see what the real world is like.
Have experienced a security issue while commuting to/from work or are you one of the these whiny babies that are crying wolf coz they are being forced to come to work?
I also saw they were training new security guards today from another company. Someone had mentioned on here a while back that JES was looking into it because of an event where he saw them in action. So I wonder if they're going to start walking patrols as well. Still, criminals usually have g-ns and our security does not except for MPD.
