Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Farley Must Go

Products are boring. All look the same and designs are stale. Family members no longer ask me for Z plan and buying other products. Quality is well below average for a company doing this for over 100 years. Farley talks about it but does nothing. Too many managers making too much money and benefits trying to manage things they aren't qualified to manage. Time to bring in an engineer to fix this company and hire some designers with some savvy like Kia/Hyundia.

id--t. fake. incompetent
ford family has wasted billions of $$$$ that has diminished the ability of the company to build affordable quality products. the family's decisions to eliminate US based factories and jobs and theyre targeted layoffs of older pensioners is one of many reasons why the company will not flourish and why the OP makes the point the company should go under - ie be taken over the way others have been acquired and have flourished
farley, field, lawler all have failed - years of talk and fails and yet they never take accountability for THEIR awful decisions - to he-l with fomoco

@2alz+1uEQGTcQ So Gen2 was 24MY, then 26MY, then 28MY… Soon to be cancelled. Care to enlighten us on what DF has contributed to the success of Ford? Dude is a delusional dreamer, the only way to believe what he says is to be asleep…

I get triggered by this. Gen 2 model E product? When did gen1 come out? The Mach E and Lightning are Jim Hackett era products. True Gen1 Model E products started with DF and we are still polishing those turds before unveiling.

@2akf+1uEQGTcQ

Agreed.

I don't agree completely, but I can understand if you wish a close encounter with a garbage truck to our speedy CEO, a fatal disease to our executive chair, or a thermal event to our bunny slipper wearer.

What I don't understand is why wishing ill to hundreds of thousands of workers at Ford. There are bad apples in the bunch, but in general, they are men and women earning their living, and providing for their families. The company is more than a bunch of clowns at the executive levels.

"DF created Model e. A startup company within a company."

Blah...Blah...Blah...at least be entertaining with this BS. Dry...boring talking points. Old and tired. Ineffective. Draining the life force from the business. Irresponsible.

That is all.

DF created Model e. A startup company within a company.

Startups aren't expected to turn a profit at launch. But they usually do afterwards. Be patient. Gen2 Model e products are coming.

Why wish Ford's demise?
Bill Ford and the entire clan are the most unethical, greedy pigs.
Bt their own doing, the company has been demoralized and destroyed.
Targeted layoffs of older pensioned employees. Rampant nepotism. The ultimate old boys network of brown nosing incompetents - best example are the Design studios.
Look at all the Directors and name just 3 wins from any of them! Lincoln IMO the bigesst fail. MachE, Capri, Electric Explorer?????? How and who made decisions to produce this garbage!
Apathy is the norm. Everyone is preparing for layoffs. No one even attempts to solve the laundry list of problems - starting with the culture of complacency.
How did Farley backstab his way to CEO? He accomplished nothing at Toyota and has done worse since joining FMC and yet NO ACCOUNTABILITY.
Now ask yourself why no own cares.

Somebody said DF replacing JF. That’s so funny when has this guy ever seen a successful product. Elon kicked him out before model 3 ever hit the roads. Apple special projects never too off . Segway is a dead company. And now model is E is a dumpster fire with only 2 products that no one is buying

@tua Yup saw the interview. As usual the words did not align with facial expressions and body language. He implies it’s the workers fault for not stopping the line, when he knows darn good and well that the Ford culture would penalize anyone pointing out problems.

@1xqt Why would you wish for our demise? I am the opposite, I want to see us back at the top. We had great products, great benefits and the employees were happy. It all changed when Mulally left and Captain moonbeam took over (Fields was between them but he didnt do much one way or the other) and turned us into a steaming pile of dog sh-t.

Ahh, a fabulous word salad type of answer. Lots of words, no real meaning. You are so correct. The "workers on the line" dont determine corporate stragety. Farlsy is such a politician.

Did anyone listen to the Wall St Week interview of JF in Bloomberg this weekend? Jf was asked a softball question like how do you know if Ford is on the right track for the long term (or something similar). He have a bulls**t answer like "it's up to the team...to the employees....I worked at Toyota and anyone in the plant could pull the andon cord if something was wrong...and Ford has to have a culture with employees just as dedicated" hmmmm I wondered, that Toyota plant employee isn't setting strategy....or laying off engineering teams...or building multiple EV plants that get written off for $4 billion....or spending millions on consultants who don't know Jack about our business. JF needs to own it, but he doesn't.....of course if the company was successful he would take all the credit

DF replacing JF? How about we wait for DF to produce something material. I'll be in favor of DF replacing JF if FNV4 is not a pile of sh-t, but it smells like a turtle head is already poking out.

Farley has been CEO since 2020, my guess he demanded and was given an ironclad 5 year contract. I think we are stuck with him until next year, but I would imagine the CEO search is on, because Ford has no bench.

Most places I have worked had about 1 person in 50 that was absolute rubbish and needed removing from the organization for the good of all. Ford is the inverse, especially in LL ranks, where 49 of 50 need to be removed from the organization for the good of all.

It is time for JF to go. Before he goes he needs to fire every single LL3 and LL5. Then fire every other LL4 and LL6.
Oh for all those screaming we will lose all that “talent”. Be honest is “ford culture exploitation” a talent? That talented bunch claimed there was no harm in laying off en masse all the true technical specialists (an action Ford has yet to recover from). Then that talented bunch doubled their staff by hiring and promoting unqualified staff, when that failed the talented bunch brought in high paid “celebrity” leaders which nearly all failed and resigned. Yeah time to do some much needed trimming of the leadership tree. Will it be done, nope the leadership bloat will continue. We can only dream.
