It’ll be do the EMPLOYEES find value in Citi and want to continue to stay.

Reorgs happen, teams combine, layers change. Those who remain will have clear jobs.
Especially if you survive, that means they see your value and want you to stay
I've been rated highly (1-1-2) so it is baffling to me. I already have an external interview lined up. I am not staying on this sinking ship.
Layered means a role was added between you and your former boss. For example you’re a c14 reporting to a c16 and they add a c15 for you to report to instead. So the c15 is the added layer.
Could also be the same c level, but it means an extra layer between you and your manager so you’re no longer a direct report to them
Every Citi employee I've seen who got Layered in Risk Management quit their group and started searching for a new job in a different Risk group, transferred out of Risk but still within Citi, or quit Citi altogether. Layering is subtle form of demotion because you're Not a favourite, politics, or Citi does Not approve of your work performance, etc.. I will do the same exact thing if I get layered. It's also called, Layering Down or getting Layered Down.

I think people are confused here about the definition of the word.
Layered means another layer of management was added above you.
A few months ago as part of the reorg, several other coworkers and I were layered. if it happens again in the next few weeks, or if I end up reporting it to someone more junior, I’m leaving.
Layering is when your job is removed and you are given the option of taking a lower position or getting a severance package.
What is meant by “layered”?
I am glad to see this OP. I suffered from layering last year. I decided to stay and It was not a good experience. However I am accountable for my decision to accept that. At the end of the day if you are not happy about layering, please be prudent and make the right choice for yourself. No one is here to protect you.
I'd hate to see company's start using this as leverage to keep employees. Imagine if that starts catching on.
