Newark Tech support to become Sale/retention Agents

After a video conference yesterday with Hr and upper management Pragash, they have decided to close out tech support sector in Newark and transition everyone including supervisors and managers, and reps. This comes after the average wait time is 2-4 hours for tech support. They will outsource their calls to Egypt and Colombia, not to mention that we have all had to work thru this and now this, the company has no idea what they’re doing. It’s definitely getting sold soon. This comes weeks after we were told they were gonna make all tech support under a new entity called IntelCia in the following months. They don’t care about the safety of their reps or about those customers how could there be a need for retention and sales reps at this time it’s a pandemic techs just started gettin Ppe customers still talking about some techs coming with no gloves or masks.

Over three years ago I went to a Town Hall with Hakim and he told a sob story of how in as a child in France his father's company was bought out by GE and they feared losing their jobs from the new foreign owners. How his family worried etc, then he said he knew what we were going through and he would never do it to us. one month later he outsourced my entire department. He is a liar and a sneak, if you can get out do so. but don't trust him

How is this legal? To make the same amount of money year over year reps would have to hit 100% commission every pay period. These representatives have a skillset based in technical support. They are now being forced to leave or perform work they did not interview/apply for.
These changes come just after yearly wage increases which are performance based.
Hours will change. Net income will change.
To the original poster of this content it seems you heard about this several hours before they found out.
What this company is doing is borderline criminal. Watch the video on youtube that shows just went down a few weeks ago in their office. The video is titled altice employee or something to that effect. I know many will just take the loss and find work elsewhere. Dexter, Hakim, and pragash k ew exactly what would happen and they are counting on letting this slip under the radar because of a global pandemic. What about the employees that have been there for 10 to 15 years, nearing retirement, those with a mortgage, etc.
Imagine how well this would be received if the CEO had to put out a public statement. We'll see if any of the lawsuits actually yield any results.

Where are you getting these $40+ an hour to $14.20 an hour figures?
That is well over a 50% cut. where do these figures come from?

it’s disgusting what they’re doing cutting people that have been working for years making $40+ an hour and bringing them to $14.20 an hour they are basically trying to use the pandemic as an excuse to drop tons of wages to reps and then convert them into sales/retention reps knowing that they will just leave making them not have to pay severance.

Yesterday received notification via conference call that myself and others are no longer employed. The conference was lead but a senior VP and was very to the point. There was no question and answer period and the only thing stated you will receive your notification via Emai. Yep got that too, had question and phoned the appropriate # and received a message to leave a message. Did that as well. No response, left the message at 9:30 AM.
