Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

"There are more than 360 Boeing 787-8s in service around the world, with American Airlines operating more than any other carrier. "

I guess I won't be flying American Airlines anytime soon.

The captain had the presence of mind during a critical moment to send a message to us so that we would know where to look for answers:
"Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!" followed by "Thrust not achieved...falling...", according to multiple news sources.
To infer that he was not qualified to fly that plane is reductive.

I do not believe this incident occurred because the pilots did not get enough shuteye. Loss of thrust was not caused due to pilot lack of sleep. The airplane breaking in two from a drop of 600 feet was not caused by pilot lack of sleep.
"Captain Sumeet, 54, was the son of an officer from India’s civil aviation authority. He was a seasoned pilot with 8,200 hours of flight experience."

Air India Executives Fired After Boeing 787 Ahmedabad Disaster

https://eturbonews.com/air-india-executives-fired-after-boeing-787-ahmedabad-disaster/

In the wake of Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner disaster in Ahmedabad, India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)
has ordered three key Air India employees responsible for
scheduling crews to resign due to “systematic and
gross violations of pilot working hours rules.”

The DGCA announced that it has uncovered instances where
Air India’s pilots worked overtime,
crews were formed without proper licenses,
and rest between shifts was simply ignored.
All of this, according to the regulator, is not isolated incidents,
but the result of a complete lack of control and internal discipline.

I do. They lost my luggage twice in Texas. Their DFW hub is like the bermuda triangle.
They cancelled my flight from DFW to JFK due to weather. Lost a whole day's worth of pay, even though Love Field did not cancel their flights nearby.
They also owe me 8000 miles flying round trip from JFK to Kauai.
Oh, and I broke my leg and was on crutches. They announced pre-boards. I didn't see anyone at the podium, so walked down the jetway to the PED. The gate agent scolded me for walking the jetway unescorted, and made me walk with my crutches all the way back to the jetway entrance, then allowed me to walk down the jetway to the PED. What a tool. I will never forget how AA treated me.
