actual jobs eliminated

I was "affected" yesterday. as part of the severance, you get a list of jobs of the people who are laid off. I have no idea who they are. I don't know their departments. since I work for Optum (at least for the next 13 days) I have to believe these are all Optum people. if the job title sounds familiar, maybe ask around your team to see what's going on.

here are the actual job titles of people who were laid off:

VP General Management
Director Workforce Planning
Director General Management
Data Analyst 1
Data Analyst 2
Data Analyst 2

Director Data Analytics

Looks like 7 of those titles could disappear nobody would notice and things actually run better saving a ton of money

I was part of a different list of titles. 60 positions. 29 eliminated.

Been many moons since I had the experience of seeing one of these age lists at another company in another industry. Usually is just focused on your immediate food chain. With the job title and age as clues it is fairly easy to backout the names of the people on the unfortunate list. Last time I was the young guy by 20 years they had to get rid of to homogenize the group into elders so they could target the ones they wanted next round with zero risk of legal ramifications.

This looks like a Job Title and Age List (JTA). Its required to be sent to anyone age 40 or over who part of a downsizing action. The universe of are the positions impacted by the business case for the job action- its not all Optum or UHG. This is a list of all impacted positions tied to the particular business case the OP position is associated with. It could be a department or division or a team.

This is made up. Job titles do not match normal Optum wording. Sell fear somewhere else.

Multiple engineers I know were laid off as well so this isnt an exhaustive list.
